ADR for 2 but can get for 3

I noticed that getting a ADR for 2 the following day was not available but one for 3 was. Is there a penaty for making one for 3 when you only need one for 2.

You can modify your reservation after you make it ...I did that tonight

I frequently travel solo and book whatever shows open times…sometimes book 4! I then immediately modify the reservation for 1. The system is fine with this. Go figure

Only time this gets tricky is if it’s a prepay, like CRT since you are charged per person or special dining package like Candlelight Processional where you need to call for changes.
