We have a small dilema. We're in Disney December 5-15. We've already made our dining reservations - about 4 months ago. Now we have friends visiting the MK with us one day - 2 adults, 1 child. We already have Chef Mickey reservations for my family for that evening, but when I call to make a reservation for 6, there are none available. I don't even mind changing restaurants, as long as it's either in MK or in a resort. Our friends will only have one day tickets to MK. I've already checked on 1900 Park Faire, Liberty Tree Tavern, O'hana, Boma, Cape May and Crystal Palace. Nothing is open at this stage. I'm trying to make it a fun place, as they're bringing their 5 year old son who has never been to Disney. I thought Chef Mickey's would be great, but any character meal would work.

Shall I just continue to call every day until *hopefully* something opens up for us? Or can we risk it and just show up for our reservation at our scheduled time, with 3 extra people? I feel bad about doing that, but I don't know what else to do. I don't want to tell my friend that we can't do dinner together and we don't want to eat off-site because we're on the DDP.

Would love some suggestions. :santa:

I would keep trying. If nothing opens up, can you split up for dinner and meet up afterwards for Wishes? CS will be an option for them.

Thank you. I think I will continue to try to get us all into Chef Mickeys (or other), but I can certainly keep counter service options open. I wouldn't even mind doing counter service with them, as long as we don't lose our table service in the long run.

Thank you for your response!! :goodvibes

How about Whispering Canyon Cafe? It is only a short boat ride to the WL.

The problem is with your party size. Try making a reservation just for your friends for a table for four. Not sure if that would work or not. Then have the two reservations linked in the system so you'll be seated as close together as possible.

What day is it? I ask because I have a party of 6 and am going to be there 12/4-12/14. There were a few ADRs I'm considering cancelling.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of the Disney Dining Plan. Reservations that used to exist even on short notice this time of year are gone.

Keep calling, even (especially) same day. I know it can be nerve wracking not having your ADR though. Have you tried Plaza Restaurant or Tony's? If your friends will only be there 1 day maybe you'd be better off staying in the MK.
