ADR after park is scheduled to close

I had a 4:00pm ADR for 50's Prime Time Cafe on Friday, December 10th. All of my ADR's appeared after the upgrade except this one so I tried to book a back-up just in case my original reservation really disappeared (after waiting on hold for nearly 20 minutes I was assured it is still there). I noticed that while the park is scheduled to close at 8:00pm, I don't believe it's an EMH night and there is no Fantasmic that night, the only dinner time availability for our party of 3 was 8:20pm. Is that possible? I was thinking it might be a nice alternative to my 4:00pm ADR as we can take our time looking at the lights and maybe hit RNR or TOT one last time before dinner but I worry about leaving the park so late. We will have a car so if we need to drive and not worry about WDW transportation that is an option. Do you think that maybe they will add a Fantasmic that night and that's why the reservation is later than park closing? Thanks for any insight!

From my understanding some of the parks were adding hours but the Disney website is not posting those revisions yet. It just might be that the park will be open later. I don't think I've ever seen ADR's offered after the park officially closes.

I had searched for this exact question yesterday. It appears to be common practice for Prime Time especially and is not necessarily an indicator that the park hours are changing. I made a ressie yesterday for 7:20 pm on a non-EMH / non-Fantasmic night when the park closes at 7:00. I'm thrilled with this. I wanted to do dinner there, but did not want to waste an hour of park time so close to closing. Now I can enjoy the early evening in the park and then go have my TS dinner without missing anything. Yay!

You can get in line for any atttraction up to 7:00, so its not like the park magically empties right at closing. Also, they will not leave anyone stranded transportation wise - so there are no worries with catching the bus back to my resort after dinner. In fact, by then, it should be relatively crowd-free. I call this a win-win. ;)

Well, I took the chance and I booked the 8:20 reservation. I think this is a better fit for us as my DH and DMIL can hang out at the resort in the am and then I can meet at DTD for lunch after I've gotten my fill of TSM, TOT and RNR! I just hope there are no snags in the system and the 8:20 reservation was some kind of mistake. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the advice!
