Im making my ADR's for my May Mommy & Me trip. I have 2 questions that I'd love some help with!

1) We arrive at MCO at 1:30pm on Monday 5/5. I'm estimating that we'll be at POFQ and checked in by 3 pm. My plan is for Epcot WS for the rest of that day/night. My mom wants a "good steak dinner" so I'm planning Le Cellier for this night. Would a 5 pm ADR be pushing it? Or should we get there and have a snack and plan for dinner at like 7:00 instead? What would you do?

2) We're planning to eat at Yak & Yeti on our AK day. I was thinking of making the ADR for the end of the day. Would you suggest 4-4:30? I was thinking if we made it at the end of the day, then when we finished we'd miss the park closing rush? Or should we just make it for a regular lunchtime and leave when we feel like leaving? What would you do?

My 3rd ADR is for Kona Cafe on our last night. Have to discuss with mom what time she'd like to make this for. Wishes is at 10pm that night if she was interested in staying there that late to watch from the beach.

Thanks for your help!!

Do you want to see illuminations that night if so I would go w/ the 5pm dinner so that you can get a good spot to watch afterwards.

If you want to do Illuminations, I agree, you should plan your dinner earlier so you can get a spot. If you've done it many times before though, I'd do a later dinner & just leave dinner and wander around watching Illuminations. I think rushing from the airport to the resort to the park to dinner might be too much.

At the AK I always am worn out by lunch and am really looking forward to a nice sit down lunch--so I would do the Y & Y at lunch and then hang out & enjoy your day and not be worrying about a ressie for dinner.

We love Kona--enjoy!!!:goodvibes

I love the idea of a mommy & me trip. Have a great time!

Thanks for your input!! I think I am going to stick with the 5 pm timeslot if I can get it. :thumbsup2

I can't wait for this mommy & me trip. My mom's had a real tough time the last 3 years so Im hoping this does something to jumpstart her into being happy again. :)

1 - I would stick with the 5pm time. You might feel a bit rushed, but it shouldn't be too hard to get there on time, and you will be ready to sit and eat after the airport all day. Plus, as mentioned before, it gives you time to find a good spot and see Illuminations.

2 - I would go with lunchtime, personally. I think the price hike for dinner isn't worth it unless you really want the dinner menu. Usually the lunch and dinner menus are so similar, it's really a waste. I would do lunch, and then decide when to leave on your own - we don't usually make it until 4-4:30 at AK anyway, so you might be glad you weren't forced to stay through the heat and crowds.

And Kona is great, but I didn't notice a question for that. Just pick the time you want, and enjoy!
