I love the International Gateway- I feel like it's my own private entrance to World Showcase!
Very cool that Donald was hanging out there tonight. :thumbsup2

And Off Kilter- love them- I have to sit through at least one set on every trip. So much fun!

Aaron, has it been crowded where you are?
I've found the parks to be incredibly crowded!

Even cast members seem a bit surprised by the influx of people.

they were expecting people, since school is over, but not the surge that came in this week..

i was on a tour today, and the CM said that monday night in particular, the MK was bursting at the seams....with people still streaming in at 8 (the parking lots fuller than they've been in a very long time...

Hi Beth,

We've noticed an increase in crowds since we've been here. The first few days it didn't seem to bad 6/8 - 6/10. Once the Orlando and surrounding school systems ended their school year the crowds have picked-up. We've avoided parks with evening EMH and that has helped, but yes, it does seem a bit crowded; especially the last few days. We've pretty much avoided the parks in the afternoons so that has helped.

See you tomorrow night at the Dole Whip meet. :)

June 16th Recap -

A busy day today. Our morning started at the Animal Kingdom for morning EMH. We really got a lot done without the crowds. We walked on most attractions with little to no wait. It wasn't extremely hot either.

We left the Animal Kingdom around 11:30 while most day guest were streaming into the park. I wish I had a picture of the crowds pouring into the park while we were trying to get out. We felt like trout swimming upstream.

We took an afternoon swim at the Grandstand section pool. It was nice and relaxing. We even hit the hot tub for about 10 minutes. Our muscles needed it. Anna and I tossed our Nerf football around the pool. It was a lot of fun.

We decided to head over to the Boardwalk and attend 'Welcome Home Wednesdays'. I'm glad we did because it was a lot of fun. We picked up a free DVC hat and Anna won an exclusive DVC pin. If you've never attended this event you should do it at least once.

Dinner was at ESPN Club. Another great meal. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal there. The service and food are consistantly good. I love the atmosphere. Lots of TVs and sports everywhere.

Our evening at EPCOT was nice. We loved playing Power City in the Spaceship Earth post show area. Anna and I always try our best to score as high as possible. One of these days we'll make it to Megacity status.

We were able to experience the rest of the attractions at EPCOT we missed in previous visits during this trip. We stayed until EPCOT closed and walked out back door of EPCOT. We headed over to the Boardwalk were we caught a few acts by the Boardwalk Buskers and called it a night. We picked our car at valet (Tables in Wonderland is a wonderful for valet parking) and headed back to SSR for the night.

Tomorrow is our Dole Whip meet at the Magic Kingdom. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone. Depending on when we wake up we may try and make it over to Fantasia Gardens for a round of Mini golf.

More to come! :)

It works well when the park hours are long- like in summer or at Christmastime. Even if you're only there for a week. It's hot (or horrifically crowded) and you really need the break.
But in the other months when the parks are all closed by 9:30, and it's less hot and crowded- you don't really need the break as much.

I go early / mid-December. When the parks close around 7:00, I am not going to "waste" time travelling back to room for a nap!

The best pool slide on property. The 200Ft long Keester Coaster. Very long with a lot of twists and turns. If it wasn't for the clown face it would be even better.

I really enjoyed this slide when I stayed with my Mom at Boardwalk.
But, I thought you said the Kidani slide was best?

Wow! When I was at Boardwalk December 15, 2006, the boardwalk was dead! I pushed mom around the lake in her wheelchair around 9:00 and no one was out and about at all.

The Lake Buena Vista golf course clubhou
Was wondering if you would have a chance to play some golf. . . guess this was it ! Did you par the course ? lol

The Ohana firepot. One of the largest in the country.

The kids activities have begun.

Oh No! I'm in big trouble now. Thank god I hit the gym today.

Teasing again ! ! ! ! Oh, my. I need this recipe !

Kidani is one of the best. The Boardwalk is the best. :)

Good Morning Everyone -

We are headed out the door. Our plan is to grab some breakfast at the Artist's Pallette then head over to Fantasia Gardens for a round of miniature golf.

We'll probably head back to SSR and possibly take a dip in the pool or look through the gift shop.

Tonight we'll be at the Magic Kingdom for the Dole Whip meet at 6:00PM. We'll probably stay for the fireworks.

More to come! :)
