JSut wondering is anyone using Adobe Lightroom? I downloaded the trial and am on the fence about getting it. I use CS2 and Bibble Pro right now, but I really like the user interface in lightroom. I am also likeing the way it handles some of the RAW rocessing. I would be using it primarily for RAW processing.
I am not a big fan of the CS2 camera raw plug in. I have used Lightroom and on the surface it looks good.

I guess I am just wanting to hear pros/cons form anyone who has actually been using it a lot.

SO anyone been using it and what do you think?

I'm using it and loving it. Things I like:

1) I can process a large number of file smuch faster than with CS2 and ACR.

2) Few of my photos need anything beyond what I can do with Lightroom, so I can just save a DNG file rather than a RAW file and a PSD file. That saves me a lot of file space.

3) While not nearly as good as iMatch, the keywording is good enough for my needs. I really like having well tag files.

4) The UI is much better than CS2 or ACR.

Stuff I don't like:
1) The keywording is more combersome than it should be. I hope they improve that it version 2.

2) No support for dual monitors.

3) The sharpening and noise reduction are weak. Hopefully they'll switch to using plug-ins for those areas (or perhaps they do and I don't know how yet).

I would suggest that you buy the tutorial from Luminous-Landscapes. It's pretty cheap and makes for a good introduction to the product.

Thanks. I am trying to convince my photoshop guru husband that I really need it. His background is graphic design (he makes video games now), not photography so he does not see the benifits of Lightroom. I have been using the trial and am totally addicted to it. My trial runs out in 5 days!!! AGHHH...

The dual monitors are the only drawback I can see for me. Though righ tnow I am only using one because DH's second monitor died and i gave him mine. Something about him being the one who makes the money in the household. I could live without dual monitro support though .I really like the user interface so much better.

Thanks again for posting!!!
