Admission media good for both DL & WDW?

Does an annual passport allow you to visit DL, DCA, and WDW? What about Park Hopper tickets? Is there any kind of park hopper that would allow us to use 1 day at DL/DCA and the other days at WDW?

Annual passes are only good at the park they were purchased at. They are not interchangeable. There is no ticket media available for sale at DLR that will allow admission of any kind to WDW.

But there is a WDW admission that can be used at DLR: Park hopper tickets. You will have to take the WDW ticket to Guest Relations at DL and they will have to call WDW guest relations to confirm that the ticket is still valid because they cannot scan the ticket in California.

This is the only situation with Disney theme parks worldwide where paid admission to one park will allow you entry into another park.

That's what I thought. However, my understanding was that by using a WDW hopper ticket at DL, you invalidate the rest of the card-that its really good for a leftover day. Do you know if that is true? Can you park hop at DL/DCA if you are using WDW park hopper? WE are going to CA in April and have 1 day to spare. We are going to WDW for 6 days in Oct. I am thinking we could buy 7 day php and use one day to hop in DL.

Hmmm...I just called DL and the person who answered the phone said...YES you can do it but it sounds like it is an individual judgement call for the admissions person. He couldn't give out very much info over the phone regarding this situation but he did say that guests have done it in the past. Sounds like they are more strict about you being the actual person who bought the ticket and that the ticket must be verified. I still didn't get an answer on park hopping with a WDW php at DL.

It's my understanding that with the WDW PH's, you can't get a park hopper ticket at DL, you have to choose one or the other.

I don't know if you can use it as a PH or not... What I do no is that you are better off buying an admission to DL and saving your WDW day for WDW. Passes for DL are less expensive than WDW.

You are correct, Anne. The PHP will only get you a one park ticket at DL.

I don't understand what you mean by "invalidate" the ticket. When DL's Guest Relations calls WDW's Guest Relations to verify the ticket, the WDW GR will subtract a day from your ticket. The rest of the admissions will be available to use just as they always would be.

You cannot park hop using a PHP at DL.

Your statement is true but it's not a "one size fits all" thing. There are many people who would rather use an admission they already have paid for (a WDW PHP) to get in than to shell out another $40-$50 for a DL ticket. Often times the short term budget savings far outweigh the long term ones.

Could you imagine being able to go to one of those kiosk somewhere maybe in a store like WalMart and putting in a credit card and punching in how many days you would like a ticket for in ANY of the Disney parks worldwide? One media -- several parks !! Imagineering!! Just think of the possibilities

I think the person who posted about this before said that DL could not subtract a day from a parkhopper, but you could use it for admission if you had a day remaining and they would basically "trade" you one day admission for whatever was left on your PHP. It sounds like that is not correct, but since you can't park hop, I will not use a WDW day. Thanks!
