DLP came up for us again because we were planning a London/Paris 10 day trip in April 2020 - so the rest is history as everything shutdown ... so time to try again ... probably the spring/summer of 2024.I may have to jump into any DLP discussion. We are going in December, for sure, but I hadn't actually bothered to do early planning. So I just plugged in some dates, and wow! I'm excited about how NOT scary the price will be. I'm even considering adding on a breakfast+dinner dining plan (need to research).
The reason for this trip is because... we alternate holidays with my Dad and the in-laws. Last Christmas, we were supposed to do the in-laws but we got caught out in the Southwest nightmare and never made it. We haven't been since 2018, because of the rotation and Covid, so we are definitely going to the in-laws over Christmas in 2023 even though it's not "their year." So then dealing with my Dad. He is a big Disney fan too, and a huge Christmas fan so we're all trying to get to all the parks, especially during Christmas celebrations (we all went to Tokyo in 2018). So the compromise over missing actual Christmas is DH, my Dad and I will knock DLP off our list earlier in the month.
Good point!! Ok I do NOT, for the record, know what cat food tastes like![]()
Wet or dry?!(Raises hand)
"I do."
My sister dared me to eat some when I was around 10. I took a bite, and immediately (literally, it was still in my mouth) vomited. Violently. It tastes bad.
The only reason I could come up with pink is because maybe I food processored it too much. That with the vinegar the recipe called for maybe? It looked gross!
Wet or dry?!
That’s us and Tokyo. We had such a good time on our 2018 Christmas trip we were all going to go again for Halloween in 2020. Now we’re either going to do Spring 2024, of Halloween 2024 depending on when the new stuff in TDS actually opens and what my Dad prefers. He’s 75, but really great health and mobility but. we don’t want to wait too long.DLP came up for us again because we were planning a London/Paris 10 day trip in April 2020 - so the rest is history as everything shutdown ... so time to try again ... probably the spring/summer of 2024.
Where there is a will there is a way ... I have learned a great deal in this thread on how people creatively take the steps they need in order to enjoy experiences with family. Spring/Summer seems so far away for me, we still have DL (for the first time in June), and WDW twice more (around the holidays) this year. And now with APs going back on sale, I am getting excited. That’s us and Tokyo. We had such a good time on our 2018 Christmas trip we were all going to go again for Halloween in 2020. And to circle this around, the reason we can do all of this is because of the points we all have because of our Chase Sapphire and United credit cards.
I keep hoping that one of these days there will be some better QS options at MK, other than Columbia Harbor House. Who else usually just snacks at MK, or eats at one of the resorts? They really are. The saddest part about those gross Mickey pretzels are that they're actually some of the better food at the Magic Kingdom.
Funny, my DD11's favorite restaurant is LTT. I guess Stouffer's is her jam lol.I keep hoping that one of these days there will be some better QS options at MK, other than Columbia Harbor House. Who else usually just snacks at MK, or eats at one of the resorts?
Honestly, I dont have a real problem with the food at MK - I know it gets a lot of hate and its likely not the best of all of WDW. But, for the most part, it does the trick. For our nicer dinners, we eat around the resorts Cali Grill, Topp's, Citricos, Flying Fish. Back in January, we tried Ale & Compass and were pleasantly surprised. Of course, nothing really beats eating around the world at the Epcot Festivals.I keep hoping that one of these days there will be some better QS options at MK, other than Columbia Harbor House. MK is the only park where I'll leave to eat and then come back. The food there isn't good. I do like the Tropical Serenade at Aloha Isle.I keep hoping that one of these days there will be some better QS options at MK, other than Columbia Harbor House. No no....Tj's sriracha doesn't taste the same!! They don't count!no shortage here-went to trader joes last week and they had a fine stock of it.
Me too! It's a lot more affordable than DL in Anaheim!I may have to jump into any DLP discussion. We are going in December, for sure, but I hadn't actually bothered to do early planning. I heard about that perk for resort guests. We are hoping to go to Japan and hit all the parks sometime by 2025! TDL, Disney Seas, Universal, Nintendo World. DH said we won't even have time to go to Tokyo and other destinations, that will be the trip of its own!I think the parks in Japan are like that too. Like if the parks are at capacity you'll be let in regardless if you're staying on site.
I knew a lady who was the secretary to a Colonel at one of the local Air Force bases here. She kept snacks.......for her......on her desk, but the Colonel would always grab a handful when he went by. She saw my cats bowl and dry food and put some in a bowl on her desk. Yup, Colonel tried it, said "wow, never had fish snacks before, those are good".Dry. It was Friskies brand, and looked like a 3 prong boomerang. Core memory.
RIGHT HERE! We usually schedule Ohana on our MK day (but let's not talk about Ohana, because it makes me sad and I got too much to say about it!). But this last trip, we also did Steakhouse 71 on one of our MK days.I keep hoping that one of these days there will be some better QS options at MK, other than Columbia Harbor House. We tried them in our 2021 trip, we were also very surprised how good it is! Service was great, food was delicious but doesn't break the bank (for Disney standard). It's a hidden gem for sure!Back in January, we tried Ale & Compass and were pleasantly surprised.
We have done Steakhouse 71 a few times with MK days as well. Found it to be pretty good and like hanging out at the bar before going up to Cali Grill for dinner.RIGHT HERE! Steakhouse 71 is one of our new faves!! It's definitely on our Must List now.We have done Steakhouse 71 a few times with MK days as well. Found it to be pretty good and like hanging out at the bar before going up to Cali Grill for dinner.
