Well you learn something new every day. And those might even be what the big scary Vista Way birds were after all ... Florida's not too far from Georgia right?

This is where the Googling we were discussing earlier would have served me well.
We have wild turkeys in our suburban Orlando area neighborhood. They’re terrifying. Especially when they start making noise in your backyard and it’s dark and you’re not expecting it.

@Smugpugmug We definitely can't talk about fries!! In fact, I'm about to go get lunch I think I'll have some curly fries!

Best and favorite fries you ever had?

Did anyone have a panic attack during the sriracha shortage? I like sriracha but there are so many good hot sauces out there I can't really say sriracha is my fave, and depends on what I'm eating. I like my breakfast (eggs, eggs sammy) with Cholula!

I posted about DLP earlier....maybe page 41 or 42?! lol! We are planning ours and I was so shocked to find out park tickets/admissions are INCLUDED with your DLP stay!! It's amazing!!
I LOVE French Fries! And I'm just going to say it - POUTINE looks disgusting. I don't know why anyone would soggify fries! :headache:

Wait there was a sriracha shortage??? Is THAT why it's been so difficult to find the brand of sriracha mayo that I love??? My favorite type of fries are crinkle. Idk I just like the texture. Steak fries are good too.

I think the parks in Japan are like that too. Like if the parks are at capacity you'll be let in regardless if you're staying on site.
there's been some talk, we're going to try hitting all Disney parks starting with DL in June ...
Have fun! Maybe try some of the IPAs at California Adventure? ;)

We do finely shredded cheddar cheese in this house.

We also made homemade salsa tonight, for Taco Night. It's chunky and mild to medium--2 jalepenos, minus seeds, in it.

We have turkey vultures in the area--in fact, I saw two, working on a carcass on the side of the road, just this morning. They're not particularly attractive.

When we lived in upstate NY, wild turkeys were very common. They actually can fly, but look like a bowling ball with wings. Scared the snot out of me, first time I saw one fly across the road.

Okay, I think I'm all caught up now. I've had a bunch of stuff going on today, keeping me from this thread.

Ok, if we are talking about salsa then we should also discuss queso. 🤤 🤤
Tijuana Flats (taco chain started by a UCF dropout) has the best queso! If you are in Orlando and want tacos, they are all over Florida not sure how far they have continued to grow. It’s our taco Tuesday go to.

Poutine is amazing, I was introduced to it by my husband’s family who have French Canadian roots. It’s like mashed potato’s and gravy with cheese on top in fry form but it has to have fresh cheese curds to be authentic.

My husband is in a constant battle with weeds at our house and I hear about it every year. We have lawn envy for 2 houses on our street. Not sure what they do (well we know they water a lot) but their grass is so green, doesn't seem to suffer from weeds or things like grubs. Every year we talk about being the weirdos who would like to knock on their doors asking them for advice :lmao:

maybe they use a lawn service? we pay a few hundred per year for one to spray our lawns and whatever they use manages to keep the weeds and bugs that populate the bulk of the 10 acres off. they include a feeding product as well that greens it up nicely.
Have you ever Googled "significance of 4/20?" It started as a West coast thing, but I thought it was in wider use now.
heck yeah-new season of beavis and butthead premiers that night :thumbsup2
Not was, IS a sriracha shortage. And they are still recovering from the plant being shutdown because the fumes were making people sick. People VOLUNTARILY put this stuff on their food?
no shortage here-went to trader joes last week and they had a fine stock of it. walmart and safeway had some issues a few months back but no problems now.

on to other things-

you all made me hungry for a burger so we went to 5 guys while running errands (nice, crispy fries thank you very much)

no turkey encounters today but did encounter a moose in the neighborhood

No idea as I don't buy it. My kids used to keep a bottle on hand but they have been out of the house for years and on their own.

Did you know if you stay at DLP resorts it INCLUDES the admission?? You don't need to buy tickets to go to the parks!! They are INCLUDED with your DLP stay (package up to 5 nights). We are planning ours and that's how I found out. It's amazing!

Weeds and gardening and yard problems is the reason why we live in a condo lol! If we were to ever upgrade to a house, I told DH that I want to pave most of the yard! Well unless if we ever get a Corgi again (we had one for 10 yrs) I would like him/her to have some grass without going outside the house, then we also don't have to get dressed to let him/her out when the weather is crappy!😂

That's interesting! I was only interested in Virgin because they are adult cruises.... and that's so exciting for your DD!! Let them travel young and experience more of the 🌍!

I like medium or spicy, restaurant style! Unless it's Pico. I don't make it but sometimes I do like to add avocado or extra hot sauce if the heat isn't quite there!
LOL!!! why is it PINK!?! How? 🤔
The only reason I could come up with pink is because maybe I food processored it too much. That with the vinegar the recipe called for maybe? It looked gross!

I may have to jump into any DLP discussion. We are going in December, for sure, but I hadn't actually bothered to do early planning. So I just plugged in some dates, and wow! I'm excited about how NOT scary the price will be. I'm even considering adding on a breakfast+dinner dining plan (need to research).

The reason for this trip is because... we alternate holidays with my Dad and the in-laws. Last Christmas, we were supposed to do the in-laws but we got caught out in the Southwest nightmare and never made it. We haven't been since 2018, because of the rotation and Covid, so we are definitely going to the in-laws over Christmas in 2023 even though it's not "their year." So then dealing with my Dad. He is a big Disney fan too, and a huge Christmas fan so we're all trying to get to all the parks, especially during Christmas celebrations (we all went to Tokyo in 2018). So the compromise over missing actual Christmas is DH, my Dad and I will knock DLP off our list earlier in the month.
