Adjusting dining reservation time?

We got some great ADRs a few months ago when our window opened up. This morning we were able to book our FP+. Now that we're seeing how our ADRs are going to work with the rest of our park plans. I'm wondering if we will be able to adjust any of our ADRs? I checked today to see if there are options and there aren't.

1) Can I expect to find options closer to the actual date?
2) Is there a grace period for arriving at your ADR? (Disney Jr. Live gets out at the same time as our ADR time at Sci-Fi Diner)
3) We have an ADR for Be Our Guest that we just can't use now (we booked Early Morning Magic that includes breakfast at 9:30 but our lunch ADR is for 11am). Is there a possibility we would make an ADR on the day of?
THANKS!

For your Sci-Fi reservations, you will be fine. If possible, sit near the exit of Jr. Live, save potty breaks until after you've checked in at Sci-Fi. You shouldn't be more than 5 or 10 minutes late. They are usually behind schedule anyway.

Keep looking for openings, lots of people are in the same situation as you.

Keep checking. ADRs become available at any time. But, yes, more likely to show up on day of or 1-2 days before. And more likely to show up for less popular restaurants than very popular (BOG). Grace period will depend on CM, how crowded they are etc. You are safe with 15 minutes.

You should be able to adjust your ADRs but if for some reason you can't just give Disney Dining a call once you have booked your FPs. Frequently you'll be able to find a better time closer to your arrival. Check this site's forum called "Dining Reservations", TP's reservation finder and if the restaurant is in Disney Springs, opentable. BOG is very popular so there is always a chance. List your lunch at Dining Reservations and maybe you'll get the time you want back; no guarantee of course. Grace period for ADRs is 15 minutes.

HTH!

ADR's do typically become more available as people move thier plans around so don't give up hope, it's worth it to keep checking.

Usually there is a 15 minute grace period to be late to an ADR and not be considered a no-show. Sci-Fi is maybe 5 minutes from Disney Jr, so you should be just fine there.

Keep checking BOG, I frequently see ADRs available the night before or day-of. It depends on party size and how flexible you can be with the timing. If you're trying for breakfast or lunch, try booking your party in 2-3 different groups (so look for ADRs for parties of 2 and 2 rather than 1 party of 4 for example- you seat yourself so you can still sit together).

And be mindful of the fact that Disney recently introduced something where you can't modify ADRs on the app. Unless they changed this? Anyone know for sure?

You'll be fine with Sci-Fi. As PP mentioned, try to stay toward the back of the theater so you can exit as quickly as possible.

For BOG, try splitting your party up into smaller groups and see if you can get times that are close to each other. For BOG QS, as long as you all get inside, you can sit together. And, yes, keep checking, things open up all the time.

Just keep checking, I have never had any trouble modifying times, even for harder to get places like BOG.

I've always gotten lucky with ADR's that weren't so advanced. Things seem to open up the day before and the day of because people don't want to get their credit cards charged, and their plans are changing just like yours.

There is no official policy when it comes to a "grace period". It is up to the CM when you check in. I have seen them accommodate people who were an hour late and I have seen them turn people away who were less than 5 minutes late. It is all up to the restaurant, the timing, the crowd, the wait and the CM. In most cases they will be happy to work with you, but if you catch the wrong CM on the wrong day at the wrong time they could turn you away.

FP+ and ADR availability is constantly changing. Over the next 60+ days (plus while you are actually there) you should be able to tweek your FP+ and ADRs so that you don't need to stress about being late or missing a window or anything like that. With everything on MDE, there are very few reasonable excuses to show up late, IMO (a ride breaking down while you are on it, big delays with Disney transportation or someone in your party getting sick are pretty much the only things I would consider a reasonable excuse).

Sign up for reservation finder for the time and restaurants you are trying to move. You'll get a text alert if something becomes available. You have to check fast though since those are popular restaurants and it'll go fast. But that should help you change your times.
