We have reservations for a 1BR at AKL for our spring break trip this year for 5 nights. My parents are considering coming down for only 2 nights of the trip.

Leaving aside the topic of whether there is availability, would it be possible to get them a studio that adjoins our 1BR for only the 2 nights? Is that a request they are able to do? Would that be a "request" or is that done by linking reservations??

Just wondering....

You are certainly able to request that the studio be nearby, but I don;t think there is ny way to guarantee that they connect to your one bedroom unless you reserve a 2 bedroom lockoff for the nights that they will be there, and then request not to move from the one bedroom.

Either way, it is logistically possible, but can not be guaranteed because of the high occupancy rates at timeshares, and the type of arriving/departing reservations on any given day. The front desk will do what they can to accommodate you, but it simply may not be possible.

Yes, I believe it is possible and this would now be a 2 bedroom. A one bedroom has a living room and a kitchen and when you add a studio this what a 2 bedroom looks like. When you make your reservation just tell them what you are considering doing and they will probably be able to accomodate you. But the sooner you make the reservation the easier it will be to make this option available to you.

If they are there for the first two nights of your stay, you would need a two bedroom lockoff for those two nights. Then the remaining three nights you would need a one bedroom.

Or if they came for the last two nights, you'd start off with the one bedroom and go to the two bedroom lockoff.

BUT, if they came in the middle of your stay, you'd need three reservations. A one bedroom, followed by a two bedroom lockoff, followed by a one bedroom.

AND you would have to be blocked into the same one bedroom portion for your entire stay. Otherwise, you'd risk moving each time you changed the size of your villa.

We did this once at OKW where we started in a one bedroom and our friends joined us a few nights later in a two bedroom villa. We were lucky enough to get to stay in the same one bedroom portion for the entire trip.

It can be tricky, but it is possible.

Finally, if you already have a reservation for a one bedroom villa, you would have to cancel that and book the two bedroom for the nights they were going to be there. And for spring break/Easter, that could be very difficult.

Good luck.

I agree with Chuck. You would have to reserve a 1 bedroom for your portion of the trip, and a 2 bedroom for the portion for when they will be there. Have them linked, and you MIGHT be able to stay in the same villa without moving, but it wont be guaranteed. If you are OKW, they will do their best to make that happen.
