We are having our wedding at the WP, and our reception at ADH. We were going to do our cocktail hour at the GF Marina. Today I spoke with Bill and he suggested just doing the cocktail hour on the upper level of ADH, where there is a balcony, so guests could be inside or out. Has anyone done this? And if so do you have pictures? My DF still really likes the idea of using the marina, as do I, but it does make more sense to do it at ADH because of the heat (it will be June) and then we wouldn't have to transfer guests again. (Which is why Bill suggested just doing ADH) I'm not sure what to do, any suggestions?

The ADH upper level is used many, many times for the cocktail hour. In fact, almost every time I play there, it is used for that purpose.

Also, another downside to the Marina is not only the heat (which is truly unbearable in June) but also the constant threat of thunderstorms every day in June-July-August.

Hope this helps!

Our reception was at ADH. We had a 9:00am Epcot ceremony so our prereception was was 10:00 to 11:00 - we used the upper leve of ADH and then our reception was from 11:00 to 3:00. I do not have a picture of our prereception but I do have a few photos showing the upper level. We walked down the staircase that you see in the far left as our entrance to our reception.

This is when we first got to our reception and we were checking out our cake. You can see the upper level behind us.

Here is another photo of the dance floor but you can see the upper level.

Here is photo of the outside balcony - on the first floor - but there is one on the upper level that is just the same. I loved being able to go out side

Just wanted to show you this great picture of everyone on the dance floor with Mickey and Minnie - we had 50 guests and everyone is in this photo.

Having the prereception and reception in the same place was great - it was so nice being able to walk down the stairs to the reception. The GF marina sounds great also - but you do have to consider the weather.

June in FL is unbearable. As a guest I would probably skip the outdoor portion because June is sooooooooooooo hot.

I think having the pre reception upstairs at ADH is a very good idea.
