"Addonitis" - Etymology?

Just a little antsy waiting to hear back on ROFR. Was wondering...
Anyone know who first used the term "addonitis"? Or when the term first came into prominence amongst the DVC community? Both facts and myths welcome!

I feel like it came from Pete W way back when, he was one of the OGs using that phrase for as long as I can remember, but is not here anymore so no way of asking him

My sense is also that it existed from very early in DVC history. Some 2001 mentions I have found indicate it was already a term well-known to members by then. The issue with the Disboards cite is that you really cannot find anything pre-2000 even though the site came into existence in the mid-1990s. If my memory is correct, the original site was actually done over and replaced with a new site about 2000, and thus one cannot now search for posts before the change.
