Adding SW Early Bird week before flight?

It just occurred to me I probably should have purchased early bird check-in for our flight home from our cruise so I don't have to worry about checking in at the 24 hr. mark. At this point, a week away, would it be worth it? I assume I would be well into the B boarding group? Or how does that work?

You can purchase up to 36 hours before the flight. I believe Anytime Fares have priority over other fare types, but I am pretty sure they use some type of time stamp based on purchase date, so not everyone will be in the "A" section. I don't think they have a limit on how many passengers purchase it. I think it is terrific and have always been fortunate to receive an A section seating.

Even buying Early Bird a week prior you will still be checked in before anyone who checks in at the 24 hour mark.

On my return from FL in November, I checked in at 24 hours exactly and got B27. So many people are doing early bird. Luckily it wasn't a full flight and I ended up with a row to myself in the back (mid-day flight).

I always buy ebci for my return flights when flying SW. I love not having to worry about checking in at the 24 hr window. If that's the only reason you would buy it, go for it.

We always buy EBCI both ways, but I would definitely get it for the return home so you don't have to worry about checking in at the 24 hour mark. As the pp said, buying it now at just a week prior, you will still be checked in before others that do it at the 24 hour mark.
