Adding/Subtracting a child from the Fairytale Package

I plan on calling tomorrow to get my package for July. My question is this: I have a stepson who I am not positive will be allowed to go with us to Disney World. I'd like to book the package without including him and then add him in if/when I am positive he will be able to go. Since it is only adding a child to an already existing package will it be allowed? Or should I purchase it with him in there and then take him out later if he can't go...

Does anyone know how adding or deleting a child from a package would work?

I asked that yesterday when I made our reservations and was told that as long as the room reservation wasn't changed, it would not affect the reservation (I'd just have to pay for the UPH).
