Adding someone to your dining reservation?

Hi everyone


My parents are going to WDW and I will be joining them for the last part of their trip. The thing is, this is a surprise for my mom that I am showing up, and only my dad knows. They have dining reservations for every day of their trip so my dad and I are trying to figure out how to add me to their ADRs without her finding out.

So I was thinking either, try and amend the bookings to be for 3 people rather than 2, however I’m worried my mom will notice on MDE or that she will get an email to say it’s been edited or something?

Or I could book myself into these restaurants as a party of 1 at the same time they will be dining (I’ve checked and all have availability except one) and try and contact the restaurants in advance to ask if we can sit together?

Any other suggestions are welcome!

You could book a reservation for three under your name. Then your Dad can cancel the reservation for two a day or so before the ADR. Another idea is for him to add a third person and tell your mom that it is an old friend who is joining you.

Booking a reservation for one won't work. They would need to find a table for four instead of for two and that might not be available.

I agree with Wood Nymph. I would try to book tables for under your MDE account and have your dad cancel the ADR's for 2. If their MDE account is under her e-mail, yes, she will get a cancellation notice, which, I suppose, could alarm her. Or, as Wood Nymph stated, have dad make the reservation for 3 and come up with some reason for it.
