Adding or taking off things from package

I booked online the other day. Now I'm wondering about adding a park hopper. I'm also considering cutting down a day of park tickets. Are these changes that I can make online, or will I need to call? I have put down a deposit but have not paid the majority of the cost yet-we don't go until September.

If I have any inclination that we may want a park hopper, would it be better to go on and add it now, and then cancel it when it gets closer if we decide against it? Wondering if the price on tickets goes up if I will regret not going on and booking the max now, and cutting it back down later if we change our mind about certain details.....

Any change to your packaged tickets needs to be done through a phone call.

If you leave off the addition of park hoppers, it's easy to add on park hopping once you are at the parks. If you add them now and then decide to remove the hopping aspect, you'll need to make another phone call.

You can add days and park hopper all the way up to after the start of your trip. You can subtract days I think till around the 2 week prior mark. The benefit of keeping the extra days and then canceling later (after the 60 day mark) is you have the ability to book FP for every ticket day. If you decide to add days later, you may not have the same availability in booking FP+

What she said!

I'd make the call (waiting on hold isn't much fun, but it's an easy phone call once you get through) and book the max you might want. Scale it down later if you change your minds, but this way, you're ready to book FastPasses as soon as your window opens, and won't get closed out of things you want before you go add your additional days back in.....

I would book your max amount of BASE tickets, if you are on the fence about hopping. Even if the price goes up, as long as you enter one park and THEN upgrade to a hopper onsite, you will only pay the price difference between the current cost of the base and the hoppers.

I'm concerned about adding the hopper now, in case they announce free dining with the same rules as last year. In that case I would have to choose a hopper or water park ticket to qualify.

you can always add the hopper if you switch your package over to free dining, if you're otherwise eligible for it.

If I add the hopper, but they have raised the price of tickets, will I be charged the additional amount when changing my ticket order? That's my main concern.

aha - with Universal's increase you are anticipating an increase to Disney's tickets soon.

I have heard that when you have a package and you change it, then you have to pay the current price for tickets at the time of the change. But I don't book packages so I don't have actual experience with it. If that is the case then you'd be charged the current ticket price when you added free dining anyway. IF that's how it works.

If we are talking tickets only:

If you add the hopper PRIOR to checking in and they have raised the prices, yes, you will get charged the new price.

If you have base tickets on your package and they then raise the prices, when you go to the resort you can "price bridge" your ticket. Simply use the ticket to get into the park once, then go to guest services to upgrade to a hopper. Because you have used the ticket, you will now get the current value for the ticket when you upgrade to the hopper and will only have to pay the difference between the current price base ticket and current price hopper.

If we are talking free dining:

If free dining comes out AFTER the ticket price increase and you change your package over to free dining, you will be charged the new ticket prices regardless of whether you have a hopper on it now or not. They will not grandfather in the cheaper tickets when you make the change.
