Adding one more person to DVC stay for 1 night

Thanks for the input, I am really not trying to get away with anything I am paying for the DxDDP plan for the 5 of us for 6 days. She would only be coming down for 1 night thats ridiculous to have to pay for a dining plan for her for 1 night.

myladyisatramp, as far as I'm concerned, your post might as well read, "I am really not trying to get away with anything - I only want to break a little bit of the rule because it suits me better that way."

We all understand your frustration but that doesn't change the rule, and we are owners who, as someone else pointed out, stand to lose some the perks, including being able to make reservations for people like you, if too many people try to skirt around the rules. That's just the way it is, sorry.

Don't worry about it,I am going to try to rent a 1 night studio for her and my son, from the person I rented the 2 bedroom from so all is right with the world. Thanks for the idea Bobbi

You are kidding talking about the dining plan as if this was some sort of "gift" from Disney, right? Disney offered the dining plan to DVC members because they can make a pretty penny off of it. They realized that with the kitchens, they would be losing $ people would normally spend eating out every meal. They saw another money grabbing opportunity and they took it. Period.

Well, that's not true for DVCer's like me, who wouldn't dream of using the kitchen - I don't cook on vacation!!! And I do remember when we couldn't get the Dining Plan, and how great it was to be able to take advantage of it when it was finally available. It's especially nice not to have to buy a 1 day MYW ticket in order to get it, either.

Anyway, that's really neither here nor there - the point is that ladyisatramp needs to find a way around her situation. And renting a studio for one night for the girlfriend will do that. But she shouldn't put her son's name on that reservation - he should stay on the group reservation, so his Dining Plan isn't in doubt. And she should be pretty sure of the girlfriend coming for that night, because she will have to commit to her owner and pay for it whether the girlfriend ends up cancelling or not.

It's a lot of trouble to go to for a girlfriend, in my opinion!!!

When my DD came to stay 1 night in our room, she was charged for 1 night on the DDP. I was told by MS that if all people in the room are getting the DDP, then the guests who are coming later must pay for the DDP for the days they are staying in the room, NOT for your entire stay.;) I know you don't want to buy the DDP at all, but the rules say your gueast must be on the plan.

MS strikes again - when I asked that question I was told that each person on the reservation would have to pay for the DDP for the entire length of the reservation whether they were there the whole time or not.
