Adding One Extra Person to ADRs

My daughter is now coming with us for our upcoming trip in December. I currently have several ADRs for 3 people. If I call and change them to 4 people, will I be able to keep the same times and day, etc. Would it be better to just take my chance and tell them I have an extra person when I check in? I'm thinking that since I currently have the ADRs for 3 people that there are not tables just for 3 persons. I assume we would be getting a table for 4 people anyways. I don't want to take the chance on losing any of my ADRs!

i would take my chances. if you call, you could mess things up.

I would call if I were you and try to add her, I don't think there should be a problem going from 3 to 4. Last year we were a party of 7 when I made my ADRs 180 days in advance, then about a month before the trip my SIL decided that she would come with us, making us a party of 8. I called and added her to every single ADR without a problem. Kept the same time, date, etc, even the same confirmation #. We went to LeCellier, Ohana, CR, CG, etc right before Christmas. It was no problem at all. I think if you were changing from 4 to 5, it would be different, but 3 to 4 shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck:thumbsup2

Call and try to change the count. If they tell you there's nothing available, or that you'll have to dine four hours later (or earlier), thank the CM and hang up.

MOST Disney restaurants do not have tables for three; you will be seated at a table for four people. One notable exception is 'Ohana - it actually does have tables that seat just three people. If you have a reservation there, do your best to change the count - but maybe do that with a separate call? So your other reservations don't get 'confused'?

Thanks to all who replied. Luckily I don't have a reservation for Ohana. I think I will call and see if I can make the changes. If I run into trouble, I will just tell the CM that I want to leave a particular reservation the same for now. I will then just try and take my chances when I get there. I didn't think of this when I told her she could come with us. When we booked the trip in September, she thought her high school marching band was going to WDW in April. They have since decided on a different trip so now she want to come along on our Christmas trip and I'm really glad she is. I would give up my ADRs if I had to just to have her with us.

Yeah, an odd number to an even number is rarely a problem. Although there was that one time my brother had a reservation for five at Chef Mickey's, and to add me they would have had to switch from a 5:30 reservation to one at 9:15 - way too late for the kids. I should have showed up anyway - they were, naturally, seated at a table for six.
