If you have say, 300 points and decide to sell is there a problem selling? I'm asking because if I buy the 150 minimum points from DVC then, later decide to add on 150 more what would be the best way to do it? Buy the add-ons at the home resort? Buy 50 here, 50 there, etc.? If I have 150 points at SSR and 50 at some other "home" would they be on the same contract? What would be the benefits of adding on at another resort vs. home resort?

From what I have read, you want to split your contract, instead of buying a 300 point contract. In the case of needing to sell its much easier selling two smaller contracts than one giant one.

As for buying at different resorts, if it was me I would buy at 2 different resorts (150 points) if you don't have an absolute favorite that you "have" to stay at. That way you would get the 11 month booking advantage at 2 resorts.

Amy's right and gives good advice. You need to make sure though that the reservation you are making 11 months out can be booked using only points from that resort (i.e., you can't have 150 SSR and 150 VWL and make a 250 point SSR reservation more than 7 months out without having to borrow from next years SSR points). You can't use the points from the other resort to book more than 7 months out.
