Sorry if this is a silly question, but if I buy a resale contract for 150 points and later add on 25 direct points with the same use year, do I end up with 2 contracts or 1 175 point contract?
Regarding availability, I was thinking BWV. I thought with the way Disney is buying up contracts pretty much anything would be available, but maybe not?

For an add on contract to be in the same membership it must be the same use year & it must be titled the same (have the same owners) as your original contract. As long as contracts are the same use year & titled the same it doesn’t matter whether the contracts are resale or direct & it doesn’t matter whether they are for the same or different resorts - they’ll go into one membership. I own 4 contracts at 2 different resorts both resale & direct & have 1 membership because they all have the same use year & names on the deeds.
If you buy a different use year or you put different names on the deed you’ll get a second membership.
Multiple contracts at the same resort will never ‘merge’ into one contract. When we refer to a ‘contract’ we are really talking about our deeded interest in our home resort. Just like your deed to your house your DVC deed has the legal description of what you own, in the case of DVC that legal description is your % interest in a specific unit at your home resort. That legal description won’t change no matter how many ‘contracts’ you buy at the same resort and you’ll have separate deeds for each ‘contract.’
Not sure what you mean by small contract, but Disney is not going to sell you less than 150 points if it is a new UY. To buy fewer points than that, the UY must match your CCV UY and the contract must have the same exact names on the deed.
