Adding on because of the upcoming price increase?

It seems that many of us are thinking of adding on to our DVC membership because of the price increase. If so, how many points are you adding on?

I'm considering adding on 50 more point at HH my home resort. I'd also like to add on at VWL but considering slightly more there--75 points. We plan on doing WDW every other year.

Soooooo....what are your add-on plans?

We are adding on 150 at VB through a resale-a great deal that we jumped on due to the price increase. Another home to look forward to!

We just bought at VWL with 150 points. I would like to add 50 points before June 3.

We just bought into DVC with 400 points at VWL. We have yet to close on that purchase. My dh thought maybe we'd have more flexibility with more points and so wanted to add another 202.

He asked me last week the day before I was going in for urgent gallbladder surgery. He teasingly confessed he had thought of asking me in the recovery room so I would have had no recollection of saying "yes."

Yesterday he told me that if we had the maximum of 5000 points, we could stay at VWL for TEN months....and then we'd have 2 months of the year to vacation elsewhere!! HA HA HA!!

Our add on will be a bit more modest...our original contract is at BWV and we have 162 points (why I didn't get 200 then, I don't know...trying to be "practical" I guess! The # is based on a week in a standard view 1br) and in trying to figure out how many points we want to add at VWL we looked at the points charts and for a week every 3 years in a studio, or 5 nights in a 1br, it would be just short of 37 points....soooo...we're thinking to get 38 so we own an even 200 total.

I'm already trying to decide how to use the add on! LOL! Gotta call the guide...

Yes....We are thinking about either 50 or 100 points at Wilderness lodge.. We currently have 222. We will get it done before the price increase.

I've already called my guide about a 70 point add-on at VWL. I just need to get back with her and confirm the number and that I want to move forward. So I've got a call to make tomorrow.

I am also considering adding on 50 popints at WLV. However, maybe it will be a better bet to buy a bigger contract once BCV open and my family gets bigger. So far, it is only DW, I and our upcoming girl. I talked to our guide and I told her to wait until May 15th to make a decision.

We are adding on 70 points at Vero.

We always seem to be splitting out vacation between Disney and Vero every year. So now I will have enough points for a week in a one bedroom at Boardwalk and a few days in a studio at Vero.

I would love to add on even more, but this will have to do for now. I am on a waiting list with resale companies for a small add-on for Boardwalk so maybe something will happen there too.

Own 210 pts at BWV, but am leaving for VWL end of next week, DH says we can't afford pts. (he's cheap) I'm hoping once he gets to the VWL he will have a change of heart, cause I would love to add on 50 ANYWHERE lol

We currently have 200 points at VWL. I'd like to add 70, BUT, DVC can not sell VWL in NY yet! It would cost me more to travel down than I could save.

A few weeks ago we bought 220 pts. at VWL. This was our first purchase. We haven't closed yet but I called for a 50 pt add on at VWL yesterday. We love VWL and probably won't spend much time at the other DVC resorts!

I discussed adding on about 30-40 points with DH. We haven't been for our first trip yet! We have 160. I am planning a big cruise trip in 2004 with 3 years worth, and those extra points would go a long way. Plus, I bought with standard view BWV in mind, but if I want to sample VWL I need to function on preferred view points!
Mind you we haven't DONE anything yet, just discussing.

I'm not the only new member who is already thinking of adding on. It sure is easy to get carried away and coming to this board makes it worse..lol. Our first trip as members is in a few weeks and I'm pretty sure we will come home with some more points .
