We might have another guest for Columbus Day weekend. We've already received our magic bands.
If I add the person in with member services, will it be a problem to get the new person a magic band at check in?
Next problem is ticket admission we don't know for sure if our guest is coming, so I don't know how far in advance we will get a ticket. Suppose the ticket is added on the first day of ticket use--is it going to be a problem to add the new person on to FP+ program we already have set up? Or, could I sit out the rides and let someone else use my magic band?

Adding them will not be a problem unless you have a dining plan. Even if you do they will add them and likely not force the charge. They have gray generic bands at checkin. If you add them at check in you will likely not be able to get FP that work with your group. You might add them now and get FP now though it's still unlikely this close you'll be able to get matching FP. I suspect you'd have to go ahead and buy a ticket. Maybe go to AAA and get a ticket and assign it to them then if you don't use it for them, you could reassign it back to your family.

Doubtful that you would be able to copy the "hard to get" FP+ reservations to your guest at the last minute. Day of, might be even less available.

I tried to copy our FP+ reservations at the 30 day mark for our trip this last week to some family members. None of our 7 Dwarfs or Toy Story Mania reservations were available at the 30 day mark to be copied. This was for a relatively unbusy week in Sept, a holiday week would be much worse.

If the FP+ reservations are all given out for a certain attraction or a certain day, you will get a notice of it in MDE when you try to book. Once they are gone, they can't be copied from one person to another.

I did this in January this year. The only real stipulation with adding a person is occupancy. If you've got room, it's no problem. As stated, you can't add a person on to a FP+ plan if there's no additional passes left.

Yes, you can do that. The CMs won't care.

Are you sure about that? I would feel a little uncomfortable because now they sometimes say my name when I've entered the turnstiles.

I'm certain, we asked. Besides, if you have a FP and you use it for the group, there really isn't an issue.

Yes, I'm sure. I've used my husband's once or twice. The CMs only see the first name from the MDE account anyway and have no way to know who you are. They sure don't ask for phot ID, LOL.

I've never encountered a CM who cared - they're just trying to make you feel special or maybe alleviate their boredom. Most times, they just want to move the line along an get people past the scanners asap.

If any CM were to object/question me (highly, highly unlikely), I'd just say that so and so decided not to ride and I am using his/her spot. No way are they going to deny you.

I didn't know you could reassign a ticket once it was associated with a magic band. Hmmm, I wonder if we could do that with a military ticket?

Yes, it's fine. They may have said your name because they see it but they won't ask for an id to confirm it's you - they don't care who is actually using it.

I thought a picture popped up in addition to my name. :confused3. But, either way, it sounds like it's not an issue.

As long as it's not one that's been formally listed in your name you're OK, you can even do it online. I listed passes for our previous group then when we arrived, others took their vouchers and activated the passes. Even the ones that were tickets and not exchange vouchers could be reassigned.

Oh- another question comes to mind. Had you made FP+ selections with the voucher and if so, did anything negative happen when you switched ticket media?

Yes we had made FP and we did not have problems. The need to make FP selections for the group was the very reason we listed the tickets on the account.
