Adding on - 2 small contract instead oof one large?

We're thinking of adding on to our 150 BWV points. I don't care where I add on and am leaning towards OKW or SSR because of their lower maintenance fees. Right now SSR is more likely since with the cost of resales, by my calculation SSR is less expensive . (I get this by taking total points over the life of the contact and dividing into total cost of buying - including closing costs, etc.)
Anyway, I believe if we buy at SSR we can buy as few as 50 points, right? So, could I buy 2- 50 points contracts at the same time, instead of a single 100 points contract? Another 100 points and the maintenance fees is alot for us to commit to long term, but I think we can manage it for the next few years. But if times get lean, I'd like the option of selling 50 of our points, and keeping 50.

Any ideas on this thought process?

if you are buying from DVC you can do an add on for as little as 25.

so 50 or 100 sounds fine to me.

if you are going resale - what ever you can find.

I would get the first 50 and then see how it went.

selling your points even for a good reason - HURTS - better not to buy them in the first place....

We did 2 small add ons of 60 pts each. Initial purchase 150 BCV points. Then decided needed 60 more to cover "possible" weekend day; then decided on another 60 to bring us up to 270 to cover a full week "just in case". Our guide said alot of people do it that way, and that sometimes a larger contract won't sell on resale, but those 50 - 60 pts contracts are usually snapped up.

It's a good idea, except for one possible thing: the incentives for SSR begin at 100 pts, I think, and they are pretty nice, too. Also, if you are taking a contract out over time, you need at least 50 pts. When do the prices go up? You should get SSR points before that happens. Dues costs shouldn't influence you--when I bought BWV they had the lowest cost on dues, but that quickly ended. Besides, the cost difference on 50 points is just a few dollars. ;)

If the dues on 50 or 100 points will tax your budget, you shouldn't buy more points. But if you were, I wouldn't split for less than 100 points unless you really think you might sell part. You'll actually do better selling 100 than two times 50 if you did decide to sell later.
