Adding Meal Plan

Sorry if this has been covered, I havent searched

but in January we're doing a 4 land/3 sea cruise

This past may we went to the parks and had the Magic Your Way dining plan, or whatever they call it.
It was awesome. The value and convenience were unbelievable.
On the DCL website my wife didnt see anything about adding the meal plan to your cruise.

so, Can you add the meal plan to your trip?
do you only have to pay for the days that you will actually be registered at a resort?

My understanding is that you cannot get the meal plan on the land/sea packages. If that is important to you then book your land and sea portions of the trip separately.
