Adding Meal plan to DVC stay - How?

We have some friends that are going to use our points this summer, but they want to add the meal plan. I have never done that, so I need some advice. Do I add it when I make the ressie for them or can they call after the ressie is made and add the meal plan and any other services they want?

You must add it thru MS for them. No later than 48 hours prior to the trip date. It must be paid for in full when you call to add it.

Yes, and yes. Remember they must have tickets in order to start reserving FP+ when it opens.

How would they do FP+? Is it on the regular Disney site? Sorry, I am not up to date on all the new things Disney has going on.

Once you make the reservation with them listed as the occupants, give them the confirmation number. They will need to link the confirmation number to their My Disney Experience (MDX) account. They will also need to link park admission to MDX in order to make FP+ selections prior to arrival (60 days out). With the room reservation linked to MDX, they will be able to customize their MagicBands.

They have to get their own tickets, you can't get them through DVC.

This can be a benefit of a split stay. We like to use the plan for a few days, tops, not our entire trip.
