Hello, my daughter and I have a WDW package booked for when my son is playing football near by. My husband and son were originally going to be staying at a closer hotel to the football fields, but now that has changed and they will be staying with us. I know I can't add them now to my reservation without giving them the same amount of park tickets. Do I just add them when I check in to our hotel? They will be doing 2 park days with us and I'd like them to have EMH with us. They won't just be day guests, but I have been told to add them as such. I would like them to have access to the pool. They will be sleeping the 8 nights with us and the room occupancy fits the 4 of us so no issue there either. They just don't need the same amount of tickets as my daughter and I. Thank you!

You can add your son and husband to the reservation when you arrive. You won't have any problems with access to EMH and resort amenities.

Are you getting some discount with the package that requires tix? If you're not, then I would really encourage you to do a room only reservation (hopefully with a discount) and get your tix separate (hopefully at a bit of a discount, but even if it's full price with Disney.) This way you can have whoever you want to your reservation, everyone can have the type of tix they need and you have more flexibility in canceling and or changing dates/things if need be up until very close to check in (5 days I think).

The package is just not worth it unless you're getting some great discount that requires it. In answer to your question though, yes if you have to you can add them to your room at checkin.
