Adding Guests to Split Stay Reservations

Hi Everyone,

We are doing our first DVC stay in August and decided to start off with a nice and straight forward 3 way split stay. I just called MS and completed the dining work around to be able to book the reservations towards the ends of our stays. We got everything we wanted, so was great experience.

However, what I am having trouble with is that now that I review my reservations in MDE, I cannot edit them to add the guests in my party (or myself) to each reservation. Maybe this doesn't make any difference, but I completed my first few reservations myself online and the lack of consistency is killing me. Any ideas if this is doable with reservations made in this fashion? Do I have to wait until they come within the 6 month window to update them?

Do you mean adding guests to the dining reservations? Or to the stay?

For the stay, you go through the DVC modify reservation piece.

If you add guests to your reservation, they will have to be added to the dining plan, I believe.

Anyone on the reservation has to be on the dining plan as well.

I should be more clear.... No dining plan. Reservations are all good, both for hotel stay and also for dining reservations. This is more a My Disney Experience app question based on doing the Dining work around through MS.

The reservations created by MS all show up in the MDE "My Plans" itinerary as being for "Guest 1, Guest 2, Guest 3, Guest 4... ". The reservations I made directly in MDE without MS, I was able to link each guest to accounts on my Friends & Family list. That way, the reservations will also show up in their own MDE "My Plans" itinerary. When I try to link Family & Friends list members to the reservations from MS, it throws an error and I cannot complete the update.

My wife is the spreadsheet guru behind all these plans, so would like to make sure she can see the reservations in her MDE itinerary as well. Just not sure if this is "normal" for reservations outside your default 60+X booking window.

OkayI I can’t answer that since I’m usually not booking my reservations right at 180 so even with split stays I am within the window for all my stays.

Fair enough.. it's definitely a niche issue. If I still can't when the 6 month window for the next stay opens I will check in with MS.

same thing happened to me last week. although the dining reservations showed up linked in my MDE account, I was only able to assign guests to those dining reservations as each 180 day window came up each day. wait a week and you should be able to add them
