Hi all,

I remember reading, and have seen on other forums, about being able to book for one person at the hotels and then add the guest (who buys an annual pass at a later point) on check in for a minimal fee of local tax, this covers breakfast, hotel facilities etc.,

I am going to book via another countries site, so just wanted to check that this doesn't change anything with regards to adding a guest? I know it shouldn't but we haven't booked via another country or added a guest at check in before so having that niggling doubt about trying two new things!

I was planning on emailing the hotel a few days before we arrive to say there will be another guest (and to ask for a nice room!), but as there are only two of us even if we get a room with only one king size bed it doesn't really make a difference.

Ta, :goodvibes

We did both for our September trip. I had booked via the Belgium site for one person and then added DH on at check in. We had no problems at all. DH got his own easy pass for the duration and it cost an extra 1.10 euros per night.

I emailed the front desk before our arrival to let them know what we would be doing.

Just check as it may cost more to do it this way then booking for both of you as you will pay more/supplement for a single person in a room.

it depends how many nights and which hotel in my experience - and remember, with one AP you can use the AP discount on food and shopping for your whole party.

I'm usually one adult with free kids - and I've found for every onsite package trip I've booked that adding another adult to the package would increase the cost by anything between £80 and over £120. So it would be worth paying for one Fantasy AP in that case, in my opinion, as your discounts for the whole party once at DLP will easily cover the difference in the package amount for the extra adult or non-free kids.

I agree that an AP is worthwhile getting, just wasn't sure if Disney charge for a single supplement like other operators do

Ah, thanks that is a perfect response!

I have checked about the price difference and it is about £100 which is obviously less than an annual pass costs, but we will be there for a day before in the Sante Fe (room only) so will be buying a ticket anyway. Added to the potential to use the AP next time we stay and the discounts, it seems to be the better deal.

The only problem is I kinda want an annual pass as well now! When we had them a few years ago it was nice to see the pass everyday after we got home.

Hi,

I have seen a comment elsewhere where someone did this without advising when booking at NYH. When they checked in, as the booking was for 1 person, they had been allocated one of the few 2 person rooms which have a King size bed. It didn't apparently go down very well that they had to reallocate him/her to a suitable sized room.

Others will tell you it's not necessary to advise first, but every time I've made a similar booking I've always ensured that the Hotel knew in advanced that there would be more than just myself in the room.

Whilst it should be easily resolved, it could be a problem if the hotel was full or had rooms unavailable for some reason.

Regards

Iain
