Ok.. with this free dining .... Yeh... We booked our trip.. It was starting on the 12th.. but dining and tickets arnt until the 13th.. (we didnt want to change our airplane ressies also)
My question is..
We will check in morning of the 12th... Then what do we do about the 13th to the 20th... Do I go back down to the front desk early early on the 13th and re-check in ????? Will we have to switch rooms ??? Will they give us
New Tickets that include dining ??? anyone done this before ???

Generally, they won't make you change rooms, although it very infrequently happens.

Sorry, I don't know if you'll need new id cards or not.

bicker

are you saying we can make a ressie for the 12th then make one for the 13th for the free dining??

how do I go about this?? I actually want to stay the 11th or 12th thru the 20th but thought I'd have to cut my trip down...

any ideas?
thanks

Is your concern that you'll have a day with no DDP?

If that's the concern I can put your mind at ease...just share a few of your meals (they are HUGE and you will still leave the restaurants full). The credits you save from meal-sharing will cover your meals on the extra day that you don't have the plan.

You will need a new reservation that starts on the 13th to take advantage of the new plan. You'll have to book a package with at least one day of tickets to get the dining plan so if you plan on going into the parks for the first day you'll need seperate tickets for that day. Seems like you would be better off not doing parks that first day. Maybe try Downtown Disney or a character meal at a resort. They should be able to link your reservations so you won't have to move but you will need to go check in and get new or at least updated cards.

That won't work for them because their "extra" days are before the free dining begins.

yeah....exactly

I was thinking doind DDT or NOTHING the first night...or swim or do the fishing hole...

so I need just to book a room only res for the days before the plan, then book another res for the day of the free dining

how will this affect my ME transportation? I really do not even care if they make us change rooms....to be honest...
off to learn about POR now...

can reread my UOG about it and do more Dis today :)

Yes this is exactly what I was thinking... Still flying in with a 1 night stay on the 12th... then a New ressie for the 13th through the 20th... just hang out at DTD and the resorts... I just wasnt sure if I would have to change rooms and be issued new cards on the 13th ??

all my dates are in Sept so I didn't have to change them, but I did a few things different. The plan is for 5 nights, I needed 7. I was able to add them with free dining, for an additional cost. The plan only gives you base tickets, I wanted hoppers and pluses, plus I can buy them cheaper at SOG. I was able to just buy a one day base ticket for everyone in the group, I'll buy the other day's tickets at SOG.

You will have to go down and check out and check back in. You might have to change rooms and then again you might not.

You will be issued new room keys and tickets.

We're doing the same thing. I made both ressies at the smae time and was given 1 total but paid 2 deposits. I even got a AAA rate for the 12th!

Thanks everyone... I guess I will have to wait until the 13th for sure to find out if we need to change rooms... sure hope not... I guess we will not be unpacking anything on the 12th.... thanks again
