Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows if you can add dining to a reservation. We have booked Coronado Springs with our park hopper tickets on Expedia, but if we decide we want the dining program as well, can we call Disney and add this on?:goodvibes thank you in advance!

If you booked with Expedia you can't call Disney to make any changes. Expedia owns your reservation.

Was the hotel sold out directly through Disney?

That's an interesting question. I would think you certainly can add dining, the question is exactly how. As PP's have said, I think you'll have to start with a call to Expedia.

As far as the timing goes, a CM told me that I could add dining up until 3 days before my check-in date. I have heard slightly different versions of this but the deadline is basically a few days prior to check-in.

Oh you're in for some fun. Yes, you have to do it through Expedia. I had a similar problem recently except I used Orbitz and needed to add Magical Express to my reservation. What finally worked for me was convincing someone there (the 6th person I talked to) to call Disney and conference me in.

Did Expedia offer Dining as one of their package options when you booked? Then you might have a chance at getting them to upgrade it.

Otherwise I'm not sure what will happen, though. You're most likely booked as a "room-only" reservation and to add dining they would have to make it a "package" - so you'd basically have to cancel your Expedia ressie. (For this reason I couldn't use a code to upgrade to park hoppers.)

Good luck!!! I hope it goes more smoothly for you than it did for me.

You will have to go through Expedia but it shouldn't be a problem but I haven't used them before. As one poster said she had problems with them. I know my DS used them for his trip to St Thomas & he had troubles with them as they had some issues that came up but solved them finally but he had to bug me about them as if I could help :lmao:
This is one reason why I book straight through Disney Travel I can change anything anytime I want to. But each to their own on how they book. ;)

I would think you could add it when you check into the hotel. Call disney and tell them you booked through expedia and find out.

Actually, the dining plan cannot be added on arrival. It has to be added at least 3 days prior.

The other problem is it also can't be added directly through Disney as the owner of the reservation is Expedia and they are the only ones who can make changes.

The OP needs to deal with Expedia on this issue.
