Adding dining plan to room only reservation

My apologies if I posted in the wrong section.
I’ve been debating on adding the DDP to our room only reservation. But I just read a question/answer on the Mom’s panel saying any discount I book our room with would be lost when adding DDP.

Is this the case?

Seems unlikely. You're converting a room-only rate booking to a package, not subbing one package for another - the latter would be more of an issue if there was no inventory left for a specific package offer.

you will have to cancel your room only reservqation and rebook as a package - they are two different systems and they can't convert.

You will have to pay the $200 deposit and they will refund you the money you have paid on the room only package and when its in your account

We just went through this. They will have to cancel your original room only reservation and then start a new package for you. However, for us, the CM made sure to honor the discount we had with the room only reservation. I listened intently to make sure the price she quoted was the same as our room reservation plus the difference of the DDP (~$575 per person for us since we added the standard DDP).

Since you want a ticketless package you would need to call and explain your situation and they would cancel your room only and rebook you with a package and they may or may not be able to offer the same discounted room price.

We had booked 2 rooms at POP with the Sun & Fun discount (room only, no tickets). We decided a few weeks after booking to add the DxDDP to one room. We just called Disney and had them add it. Easy peasy! And we didn't lose the discount!
