Hi All,

I have been trying to look for an answer but I just can't seem to find it. If I book a room only reservation on Cheaptickets or Orbitz (for discounts), will I be able to add a dining plan to it? Or would I be able to do this on the Disney site/ give them a call?

TIA!:worship:

You won't be able to add it at all. It's a package component and cannot be added to a RO reservation.

Aside from that, reservations booked through 3rd party sites like that are not eligible at all.

You can add Dining Plan to a room only reservation but not if you book the room from a 3rd party. They must be booked with Disney.
AP can add it online but others must call

It still turns it into a package - just a package without tickets.

Yes, I do realize that.
But I believe what OP wanted to know was can you add dining to room, without tickets. You can. Yes it turns in to a package. But only if you get the room from Disney. And you must call on the phone to do it.
Prior to about a year, or two, ago you couldn't do it period.

Right on. I just think it gets confusing calling it a room only addition since it changes it around and the policies are different.

Yes, you are correct. Technically it is no longer room only, it is a package when you add a 2nd component.
It does get confusing.

Thanks for that info! I was just about to start looking into that myself!

Realize, as PP mentioned, this will turn your room only reservation in to a package and change the payment rules.

Thanks everyone! :) Would anyone know if a room discount is offered, will I still be able to apply it? Or would it be rack rate since it's a package now?

In what context? A room discount offered by Disney can be applied to the package - it just discounts the cost of the room.

If you booked through Orbitz and a room discount came out it wouldn't be applied. However, Orbitz usually has rooms showing the discount with a bit additional off.

Yes. If you book a tickless package with Disney and a discount comes out for your resort, room category and dates, you can apply the discount
