Hello again!

I just made a room only reservation. Am I able to call back and add the dining plan to my reservation, knowing that I must also add tickets to do so? In other words, may I call and convert my reservation to a package, and add dining as well? Or will I have to "rebook"- thus losing my room and/or rate? Thanks!

When you call back to add DDP ( and ticket) you will have to basically cancel and rebook. If it's during a free DDP offer you won't be able to keep your discount. If the discount is a "room only" discount offer I don't believe you can keep it and still get DDP.

The only guests who can get DDP without booking a package are DVC members booking through Member Services and possibly Disney cast members if there's an offer out for them.

If you booked a room-only reservation and you would now like to make it a package because you want a dining plan, it is correct that your reservation will now have to be cancelled and rebooked as a package.

If the discount you got is still active, applies to a package, and has availability at the resort and room level you want, you can keep the discount.

If the discount has expired, you will lose it when you rebook.

If you believe you are going to want a dining plan at all it is probably best to go ahead and book a package. Remember that package rules apply - $200 minimum deposit and full payment due 45 days out, with cancellation penalties within 45 days.

If you're after free dining, that supersedes all other room discounts, as the discounts are not combinable.

Annual passholders can also book the dining plan with a room only reservation.

Not sure how long you are staying or what the Annual Passholder discount is, if any, and whether or not you plan to return within a year, but thought you might want that information.

If you plan to have an annual trip and you can schedule next year's trip at least 1 week earlier than this year's trip, the AP can also save you money on tickets. It's almost never a money saver if you don't have a second trip planned.

Annual passholders can also book the dining plan with a room only reservation.

No, they can't - that reservation is a ticketless package. It would still need to be booked as a package and will follow the deposit, payment and cancellation rules for packages.

You can also add dinning to a military room-only rate up until 48 hours before check in.
