I read somewhere that you could add additional days on your tickets as a way to get additional meals at a nominal cost. For example, if you book a 5 day vacation with dining plan and then add two days on to the magic your way tickets, you'll end up with food for 7 days but you'll actually only be staying for 5 days. That way you can use 2 meals for those places that require 2 and still have meals for each day of your stay. Sounds like a great tip since adding days to your tickets only costs a few dollars. CAn anyone confirm that the meals will be added based upon the days of your tickets and not on your hotel nights?

This is not so. Your dining plan credits are not based on your tickets. They are based on the number of nights you stay at your resort. You would have to add on two nights to a 5-night stay to get 7 nights of meal credits. The length of your tickets is irrelevant; it's required only that everyone in the party buy the same tickets. You could book 5 nights in a resort and get 7 day tickets, but you'd still only get 5 nights worth of dining credits.

your number of entitlements are based on the number of nights you stay at a disney resort not on your tickets

Sorry, but whoever wrote that did not know much about the dining plan. As the other posters have said, the dining plan is not connected to your park ticket, it's based on the number of nights you stay at a resort.

Sorry...........doesn't work that way..........If it did, everyone would be buying the 10 day MYW tickets!

You can wish but it not going to happen:sad1: Only goes by the days you stay not by tickets. Just pay oop for some meals that you want to use enough for the dining that takes two pp.

In that case if you bought a one day Base Ticket, but stayed 10 nights you'd be awfully hungry at WDW! :scared1: A one day Base ticket is the minmum ticket required for a MYW plus dining package.

As others have said DP meals are based on the number of nights you have booked at a Disney hotel for your package.

We always catch a redeye and get in at 7am, so we book an extra day on our stay, then we have a room ready to check in when we get there AM, only get the room for an extra half a day, but nice to have that extra day of dining :)

Please explain. We're booked on a redeye too and are arriving at MCO at 6:20am, Monday. If we book our trip to start on Sunday, since we'll be arriving Monday morning, will we be able to get the extra day of dining credits even though we arrive Monday morning? and will we be able to get in our room immediately rather than waiting til 3 or 4pm Monday? It'll definitely be worth the extra night's cost if that's possible.

We are driving straight in, so the arrival night we will not used any of our dining credits, we will get in too late. This way, we have one extra days worth of DDP credits to work with!:goodvibes

Definitely book Sunday, they have always told me to call the day of checkin and let them know I will be arriving the next morning, otherwise you will be considered a no-show I have done this the last 3 years, It is nice to have a room already at 8 AM aftera 6 hour flight.

What i would suggest is getting the deluxe dining plan, then you can extra meals to use for your 5 nights there.
