HAs anyone ever done this before going to the park? Stinks that I want to add a day after my purchase so I am blocked from FP booking I think until I get there? Thoughts?

1. Can't be done from home.
And, you don't want to add the day BEFORE going into a park, anyway.
That could prove to be very expensive.

2. Yup, Sorry.

We bought tickets through Orbitz last year, and again this year (great deal!). Last year, we bought the 5 day PH and ended up adding on two more days. Before you get to the park, you only have a voucher. Then you go to guest relations, and they give you the physical tickets (or now add them to your MBs?). If you need to add days, the easiest way is to get your tickets, use them at least once to lock in the current gate price, and then upgrade/add days. As far as adding FP+s, on one of the discussion boards, someone said that they were able to get a number from Orbitz to enter into MDE to book FP+s. I've never tried this (the tickets I'm using this summer were purchased on a previous trip), so YMMV. Good luck.

I purchased tickets from Orbitz and had no problem adding them to my MDE account and reserving fastpasses. The only thing is if you add days you can only reserve fastpasses for those days after the fact. Plus you are running the risk that your fastpasses might disappear after ticket upgrade.

The OP is lamenting that since the ticket will be one day "short" (before upgrading at WDW,)
booking FP+ for that added day can't be done until after the ticket is upgraded.

Correct Robo. I think we are all confirming what I thought was true, I appreciate the feedback! I will add a day when I need to at the end:)

If you know that you will actually want that extra day, upgrade your ticket RIGHT AFTER you enter your first theme park at the beginning of your trip.

At that time, you will be able to book your FP+ choices for that added day,
so you will be doing so about 5 days in advance of the day you will actually be using that extra day.

I would not. I would wait to the last day or at least until I used all my hard to get fastpasses. Too much risk.
