Adding days before arrival

We are not sure if we will spend 6 or 8 days at WDW. Can I purchase a 6-day MYW ticket, and in a few weeks make the decision and add the 2 extra days?

I will just purchase them from WDW directly (online) and the other issue I am trying to make sure is that we can do all of our FP+ reservations on the 6 days, and simply add 2 days and do those later (if needed).

If you buy stand-alone tickets (purchased independently from a resort stay,) you cannot add days to those tickets BEFORE you arrive at WDW.
After arrival, you can add days to those tickets.

You can only book FP+ in advance for the number of days' worth of tickets that you have in advance.
After arrival, if you add days to your tickets, you can THEN book FP+ for those added days.
(Fewer choices of popular rides/times as the dates get closer.)

If you buy your tickets as a WDW resort package (room and tickets together,) you CAN add days to your tickets before your arrival.
(And, therefore, book FP+ farther in advance.)
