This might be a rare scenario, but wondering if anyone has done this without issue.

We have a package with 6 park tickets with Genie+ (had Genie+ added to all days when they allowed it).

We are now thinking of adding another park day for our departure day Didn't realize until recently that the additional day is just a small amount more (about $50 for the four of us if I calculated right). We would only be at the park for a few hours but for that cost, it's worth it.

Has anyone done this? Wondering if it will mess us Genie+ since pre-purchasing it, required for the whole trip (but pre-purchasing is no longer allowed ). Our other option is to wait until we are there....but it is a bit of a risk in case MK sells out (which is not end of the world as it's a bonus day if it works out)

I was looking at adding a park day to our current reservation. I called Disney and the CM I spoke with told me that so long as my reservation is for 2022 I should be able to edit my tickets and maintain the pre-purchased G+. Now, it's known that sometimes CM's give different or incorrect info, so I would definitely call to add a day to your tickets and make sure to have the CM confirm that the pre-purchased G+ will not go away.

FWIW, I did a mock edit without confirming the change, and G+ was still on my media after I added a day to the our tickets. I didn't complete the edit because we just aren't sure if we want a park day on our departure day...

I already did this. Can confirm that Genie+ was added automatically to our additional day. It wasnt even an option not to. Our tickets now show 3 day w/Genie+. Completed the transaction through the app.

Thanks...yeah, that's my concern...that it would mess up and genie+ would be removed from my original purchase. If we proceed with this (since also still deciding), then I would definitely do this over the phone. Actually, our final payment is passed so we have paid out our package...so another reason I would do this on the phone.

Oh...so if you add a day now...then Genie+ get added as well....even though you can no longer pre-purchase it? If so, that means it would be $50 for the extra park day + $60 for Genie (which we could only use for a couple hours so not worth it). If that's the case, then we'll probably pass.

P.S. - Would it be any different if we took a chance and waited until are there? Only risk is that MK is booked up (it's Sat of a long weekend so that's a possibility)

To be clear, I bought our 2 day tickets before the June Genie+ deadline. I added Genie+ to them at time of purchase. Disney required you to add for length of trip. I recently decided to add a day(well after Genie+ deadline), and it was automatically added to additional day.

If you already booked your days w/Genie+ and now want to add another, it appears you must pay for Genie+ as well for that day. Unless my experience was an anomoly.

I wouldnt wait to do any park reservation. They are regularly booked out days leading up to.

This makes sense because pre-purchasing Genie+ was an all or nothing deal. So if you added a day to the tickets, it would automatically extend Genie+ to that day.

OP, if you’re able to add a day yo your existing tickets, if you purchased your original tickets with Genie+ for length of stay, adding a day would add identical tickets which in your case would be ticket plus Genie+ for each person.

Thank you all for confirming. Correct...we pre-purchased Genie+ for the length of our stay when they still allowed it.

Ok...so this plan probably doesn't make sense for us then. We have breakfast ADR at 8:30am at our hotel (which we want to keep). Staying at Contemporary so we can walk to Magic Kingdom but guessing by the time we checked out, stored our bags, etc, we wouldn't get there until 10:30am or 11am. Then we would need to leave MK around 2:30pm or 3pm to return and grab our bags and head to the airport (6:30pm flight back to Canada). Not worth it if we have to purchase Genie+ as well for the additional day.

But if my timing is off or I'm missing something, let me know as it's just an estimate. Too bad...but this would have been a bonus day anyways.

This. I had a preexisting multiday ticket with G+ for an August trip. Added an extra day just this last Saturday, and G+ was also added. Used my laptop.

Thank for confirming. Makes sense...but wasn't sure how their system was set up to handle it once they stopped the option. Too bad...

I agree. I didn’t actually need the G+ for my arrival day, so I was willing to wing it. I liked the pre-purchase option. I pre-purchased another ticket for another trip that might be more/fewer days as soon as I saw that it was ending.
