Adding an extra person

A friend of mine who I haven’t seen in years is now going to meet up with us at a park one day. We have an ADR for lunch so I’m wondering what’s the best in regards to this: should we just show up and say ‘we have 4 now instead of 3’ or is it better to call them and have them change it? I’m not sure if I call and they’ll say ‘no sorry we will have to cancel it’ or if I don’t call and we just show up with an extra person will they just smile and say ‘no problem’?

You need to try and get a 4th spot either by having it added by calling or adjusting online. You can be turned away and a poster who I believe works in food and beverage at WDW has been posting that CMs have been warned to turn away extra guests as it is becoming fairly common to use the "well so and so decided to join us" excuse. Not saying it is an excuse for you but many people are doing it because they can't get the ADR they want but find it for less people so then try to shove their party in.

Oh wow, I'm glad that I asked then. I guess I’m too honest because doing that just for a reservation is something I would never think of doing. But I guess people do get desperate for them. Thank you. I’ll give them a call.

I had a really good experience last night calling Disney Dining and adding 2 additional people to our HDD and CM reservations, it was not a problem, just have your reservation confirmation # available when you call.

Which restaurant? Increasing from 3 to 4 is usually pretty easy, but some restaurants actually have tables for 3.

What is the number to call Disney dining? I was able to snag an BoG ADR last night but after I thought about it I wanted to add a couple people if possible. How do you do it adjust it online? TIA

You can't just add people. You'll need to find another reservation for the right number of people.
