Don't know if this is the best place for this question, but...

My son and I are booked for a SWW vacation. My ex (son's dad) has officially said he'd like to join us for part of it.

I booked a room only reservation (at BC) and then added 8 day park tickets also though Disney (with a discount) which automatically seems to turn it into a package.

Ex would need only 4 day tickets.

I need to add Ex to our reservation so he can take ME (he'd be on our flight) but if I do that does that mean he automatically has to have the same number of tickets as we do? Can I add him to the reservation without getting him tickets?

We did get the deal on the tickets so it wouldn't be too much of a hit to have to pay for more wasted days of tickets, but I'd also rather not have to do that if there's another option.

So...is there another option?

Who did you book this through? I'm not familiar with SWW, sorry.

If you booked directly with Disney, then yes, adding him would give him 8 days of tickets. You could decrease everyone down to 4 days of tickets, add him, and then once checked in and on property take the 2 tickets that need increased and have the additional days added at Guest Relations.

Other than that, I'd normally recommend adding him to your reservation after check in - but since he'll need DME at the same time that obviously wouldn't work.

Adding tickets to a room only does not automatically make it a package. In fact they would have had to cancel the room only reservation and rebook it as a package. I don't know if they do this automatically if the guest just asks to add tickets. You may want to check with WDW and see if you have a package booked or not.

If the reservation is a package, you have to either take 8 day tickets for him, shorten your tickets to 4 day tickets and extend yours when you get there, or add him after you arrive (but if you do that, he can't use DME).

SWW = Star Wars Weekends.

Oh Star Wars! I couldn't get Southwest something out if my head.

OP, when you added tickets, did you pay for them in full? They could've just given you stand alone tickets and not modded it to a package.

If your reservation starts with a 4 and is several numbers long, it's a room only. If you've got a letter number combo about 8 digits long it's a package.
