Hello all! I haven't signed in for awhile, but we are planning another trip, and have been reviewing all your tips. We have all of our plans made for the most part, but are now considering adding a person to our trip. Should I just call WDW to add one more person? I'm sure at this late date, if I try to start with a new reservation, the times and restaurants we want will not be available. Thanks in advance for your advice.

If it is somewhere that you really want to eat at, then yes, you should try and get a reservation for the correct number of people. While it may be possible to just show up with an extra person and get seated, there is an equal chance that the restaurant won't have space.

If it was me, and it was somewhere that I really wanted to eat, then I would try calling to see if I could add a person to the existing reservation and if not, then keep trying online for a new reservation.

As for the "late date" you never know when someone else might cancel. Reservation availability change all the time, so it's worth trying.

I would also like to know about this. We are thinking about bringing grandma for 3 days (she is a local) to surpise her but we already made our ADR's for 4 and everything is booked solid. We would become a party of 5 if she came.

Going from an odd number party to an even number is much easier than from even to odd because now you need a bigger table. Don't count on being seated if you show up with an extra. We were denied seating once when we tried it; you just don't know until you get there.
