Adding a person on an ADR?

We're going on our first Disney trip as a family for my kids' b-days in January, and I just found out that my sister will be in Orlando for a conference! She wants to join us on the night that we have Chef Mickey ADR (where we'll be celebrating the b-days as well). I called to add her on my ADR and they couldn't add her at that time. She suggested calling again to try or just showing up with an extra person to see if they'll squeeze her in. Anyone ever tried this?

Thanks!

How many people are in your group before you add in your sister? It will partly depend on the size of the table you have now, and if there is still room for another.

For example, if you are a party of 3 you will most likely be booked at a table that holds 4, so adding your sis would be no big deal. However if you are going from 4 to 5 or from 6 to 7, that will be more problematic, as your table itself would have to change in order to have another person eat with you.

The best thing is to keep calling and keep trying to add her. You can just show up with another person, but there is no guarantee they will be able to accomodate an additional guest. Especially at someplace like Chef Mickey's which is usually booked solid.

Good luck!

I would keep trying to re-book. But, if nothing comes up that works, I would take a chance and show up with the one more. You may have to wait a few more minutes, but I bet they would make it work. Enjoy:thumbsup2

It's going from 6 (4 adults and 2 kids) to 7. What do you think?

You will need a different sized table than the one your current ADR is at, most likely. Keep calling and see if you can get it changed. Call even the morning of the meal. If you can't get it changed, go anyway, keep your fingers crossed and see what they can do. It is not a given you will all be seated, there have been many reports lately of people being turned away. Hopefully you will not be one of those people, and will be one of the lucky ones!
