Adding a Night Last Minute

Has anyone here ever extended a trip by an extra night while on the trip? Depending on how crowds are and how efficient we're able to tour with our very large group, we may end up deciding to add one more night on mid-trip. In your experience, have they been pretty accommodating about keeping you in your same room? Or, if you do need to switch resorts, will they transport you and your luggage? Also, if we are booked on Bounceback free dining, will that promotion extend through the extra night?

I wouldn't expect that if you are able to extend your stay while you are there that any promotion will be extended as well. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the rate for the additional night is at a different amount - usually higher. We tried to add a night on our last trip and while there was availability the rate was significantly higher than the rate for our stay and didn't include our dining - which we weren't looking to do any way. It will most likely be affected by the time of year and regular rates during that time.
As far as keeping you in the same room Disney is often accommodating but it isn't a guarantee. They will be able to tell you this when you inquire about the availability to add the additional night.

Much of what you ask depends on availability. They can be as accommodating as room availability allows. If your room category is fully booked then you would have to move. If there is availability then they may accommodate you but they may not depending on requirements of incoming guests. Going to another resort again depends on availability in another resort but they would move you and your luggage.

The best thing is to plan an extra day now if you think you might need it and just do something else or more parks the extra day.
