Adding a "friend" to our MDE party so we can book ROTR BG together?

We are travelling with friends for our upcoming trip and within MDE we have linked our room reservations, park tickets, etc.... and all 10 of us are in the same party, all of our park reservations are together, etc... Our friends have a single cousin who will be joining them for 3 days of our trip, but this person is staying offsite so no room ressie to link. I added a "guest" via the website but all that was needed was a name and age. I then used this guest entry in order to ensure that we have the correct number of guests for our dining ADRs on those days. But ADRs don't require magic band links.

What I am worried about is that for our two DHS days when it is time to book our ROTR boarding group that the cousin will not show up in my list like everyone else will so we would only book the original 10 of us into a BG and the cousin would not be included. Has anyone had this situation where you need to add another guest into your party so you could all get in the same BG? I assume somehow the ticket has to be linked somehow or how will they know which person the BG ressie is for? But the option when adding a guest only had room confirmation number as a way to link, not a ticket number. What are my options here?

You need to connect to each other via "Friends and Family" in My Disney Experience so his name pops up when you go to schedule a BG. You should be able to invite him to connect through your MDE account.

i have a similar question. Have two friends who are on one of their parents MDE. I wanted to try to help them get ROTR boarding passes from home but when I added the email (parent's email) request it came back with the person who manages the account they are listed on has been added to my friends and family. I don't want the parent just two people list on his account that he manages. Can I not get my friends listed on my account?

Go back and select 'Add a Guest' again. If it's working properly, a list of people you may know will be shown. That list would include any profiles managed by your connected friends.

If they are staying at a Disney Resort, another option is to click the 'Import from a WDW Resort Hotel Reservation' after selecting 'Add a Guest' on the MDE website. You would need the Reservation Confirmation Number and Last Name on the reservation.

Last resort is to call the MDE help desk.

I'm having a similar issue. I manage my daughter's plans and she's 11. I created her account and it's in my MDE. I want to be able to have her be friends with my wife in MDE so when we try to get a ROTR pass, she'll show up in my wife's MDE. From the looks of it, this isn't possible since she's a minor and I created her in my account. Am I missing something because I've tried everything.

I don’t know how to get her to show up, but the easy solution would be to have your wife log out of hers and just log in to yours if everyone shows in yours. My husband, teenage daughter and mom don’t have their own accounts and are all managed by me...when attempting to get a boarding group there are 4 of us logged into different devices but all logged in as me.

If your wife has a separate account and you are not connected with her account (via family & friends), you need to do that first.

Once your two primary accounts are connected, have your wife go back and select 'Add a Guest'. If it's working properly (and your friends list is shared), a list of people she may know should be shown. That list should include your daughter. Your wife can select your daughters profile and a request will be sent to you to approve the friend request. You would still manage your daughers profile, but your wife would be able to make plans that include her.

If the above doesn't work, you can call the MDE help desk and they can assist in getting your wife and your daughter linked up.

Sadly that document is missing a few steps Between Step 2 and Step 3 if you choose the 3rd option for adding a guest. Because I used the Add Guest "by entering name and age" and it just adds a Guest with that name. There is no place to enter an email address so I don't know how Step 3 can mention sending an invitation to the Guest when it never asks WHERE to send the invitation. This is my concern. I could literally add Mickey Mouse and Goofy to my party but I still don't see how it would work for FP+ or Boarding Groups as there is nothing that ties the Guest I added to a park ticket, park reservation, or anything to an actual person going to the park.

When I added my friends earlier this year they are staying on property with a room reservation so that was how I added them and everyone showed up just fine.

You just need to click "Invite this guest to connect". Then the email entry area appears.

I think the mistake I made was selecting the first option of "I want to manage all plans for this Guest" and I never clicked on the other option to see the email address. UGH!!!! Thanks for providing the clarification I was missing. Feeling a little bit like Dopey at the moment, LOL!!!
