Adding a family member to DAS card mid trip?

We're going (DH, DD10,DD9 and DS7-ASD) to WDW 10/6-10. My son has autism and difficulty waiting in very long lines, so we hope to get a DAS card to help with the waits for the long lines. I know we will have FP+ but we're staying off property so at the 30 day mark, the pickins may be slim. I'd like the DAS card as a backup plan for things like 7DMT or A&E.

Anyhow-we all plan on going to GR at some point on the first day of our trip to request the DAS card. However, my MIL will be joining us for the last 2 days of our trip. How do we get her added to our family group on the DAS? Do we all need to go back to GR to add Grandma or can one parent, the disabled child, and the Grandma go to GR?

I believe you should be able to just go back to Guest Relations at any park, along with grandma's ticket/MagicBand. As long as this doesn't put you over the standard 6 guests per DAS, I don't believe the whole group would need to go. If grandma puts you over 6, you probably need the whole party.

I agree with lanejudy.

We have done 4 or 5 trips now with Fastpass Plus and can say that you may not have as 'slim pickings' as you think you will.
A lot of the people who picked Fastpasses earlier cancel or change them closer to their trip as they finalize their plans. So, things that were not available might open up. Plus, they do hold some/add some Fastpass Plus times for people who are not in the groups that can arrange them 60 days out.
We have even been able to get or change Fastpasses the day of our trip. So, keep trying, especially since those attractions are likely to have long waits and tie up DAS for a long time until the Return Time arrives.

I was able to add my mom and dad mid trip, did have to have everyone there as it took us to eight.
