I have exactly the rooms I want (booked 15% off with Orbitz), but we've decided to stay an extra night (because flights got changed) and now my bf wants a King bed in our room. I spoke with Orbitz and they spoke with the RPR and I cannot change my reservation (i.e. adding another day OR requesting a King in one room. The ONLY was they say I can do it is if I cancel the entire reservation and try to rebook it with the additional day and change in beds.

Meanwhile, I have paid almost 2000 on my credit card and have no idea when it will be refunded to me. I don't really want to put another 2000 on my credit card while I wait for refund, and I hate to loose the 15% deal that is only on for another 2 days.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with RPR/Orbitz. I can book 2 rooms on the night we want, but Orbitz rep said that I would have to change rooms for the final night because it would be 2 separate reservations....ugh, grrrrr...kinda defeats the purpose in staying there extra night. I am a bit upset with myself for making such a silly mistake about King bed and for purchasing through Orbitz if it's going to be so hard to change, etc.

is this another trip as i commented on the portofina hotel post this morning.
the orbitz deal trip, is it just for the two adults and not the kids?
if you want RPH and one king bed, it will be the only bed in the room.

Day 1: land fairly early, rent car??, go get my Annual Pass (for room discounts) then head to Cabana Bay to do pool/relax thing for first day and a half.
Day 2: Cabana Bay relaxation/play day
Day 3: Check out of Cabana and check in to our PBH rooms, drop off bags, get express passes and head to parks to play.
Day 4, 5, and 6: Play, rest, nap, play, eat, play, etc
Day 7: Check out of PBH early, ditch bags in rental car, head back to parks for last day of fun, fun until we collapse from exhaustion or they throw our happy butts out at closing time. Head to cheapo hotel (probably through bidding site) and sleep hard before flight on day 8.

i haven't used orbitzs but have read on different threads how some have booked with the site.

is it possible to book a new reservation and then cancel the old reservation with Orbitz transferring the deposit you first paid?
i'm not sure how a third party handles their procedures so i don't know if that is possible.

when i book direct with universal, i only put down a one night stay.
i'm assuming with 3rd party vendors, you pay all in advance.

if no one will budge on the situation, (RPH/Orbitz) is it possible to keep the present ressie and then book additional night at Cbay?

I'm probably no help on this question but thought i would try.

however it turns out, i hope you can get the deal you want.

Yes, this is current trip. We were only at PBH because we got super cheap APH rates. We are getting two rooms. Today I found better deal for RPH through orbitz...booked and paid, then bf says great, let's add another day at PBH so we wont have to mess with day somewhere else and get us a king bed if you can....ugh That's when all the hassles started. I can't get the days I want rebooked right now through orbitz...so I don't want to cancel what we've got. They wont transfer the payment to new reservation even if I could find it. Worse comes to worse ill book the final night at RPH and if we have to change rooms, or back to CB.

I was hoping to ditch car rental, but if we are gonna be running back and forth between resorts with bags, it may necessary.

Thanks so much for all the advise, I really do appreciate your time n help.

you can have bell services transfer your luggage from one deluxe to another.
so if you move to one of the other hotels, you won't have to deal with your luggage.

the deluxe can transport your luggage to Cbay.
but, Cbay will not transort your luggage to the deluxe hotels.

if you stay within the 3 deluxe, you won't need the car to move your stuff.

but Orbitz rep said that I would have to change rooms for the final night because it would be 2 separate reservations

Just wanted to say...if the room types are the same, you might be able to avoid moving rooms. Just make sure they know at checkin about the second reservation, and see if you can stay. The Orbitz rep doesn't work there, and doesn't know how helpful Loews people can be.

You could get rid of the rental and just use a quick taxi to move luggage. It's an idea, at least.

Called this morning and Loews could not get me the same rate for final night if I wanted to stay at RPH, but they offered to let me book one night and make a note on reservation so I shouldn't have to move for final night.

They also offered our original plan (staying at PBH) with an annual pass holder discount for 224 a night, so it was only a few hundred more to stay at such a great resort. She made sure we had a king in one of the rooms and that the rooms will be connected.

The Loews folks are super helpful and I'm so thankful that they could help us with our additional night.

Thanks for advice, calling them direct was so much easier than dealing with orbitz.

Just an update for anyone else considering where to book, etc. Orbitz refunded my credit card charges this morning, only 2 days after trip cancellation. So for me, I would book with them again...but with on site hotels I would keep in mind that after booked, changes are sorta impossible.

Thanks! I was just looking into this and was glad i found this, as I have had the same problem.

Glad everything workded out!

I used Orbitz for the first time, and also decided to add an extra day. You do have to cancel the first ressie, but I was still able to get the 15% off for the entire stay and was refunded the next day for the original reservation. Cabana Bay this October...so excited!!
