Is there a way to do this once you're at WDW?

Honeywolf7, we have had to do this a couple times, most recently in January. I was very ill and we had to tack on a day to our stay. I called the Front Desk of my resort and explained the situation to them. They initially told me that we might have to switch rooms as our room was already blocked for the next guest, but since I was ill, the Front Desk said they would see what they could do. Luckily for me, they called me a few hours later and told me that we could stay put. I was so relieved, as I had been running a high fever for several days and already had to resort hop once.

On our first trip, we added a night. Just remember, though, if you have UPH (lenght of stay passes), you won't get a day added to the ticket. You will already have the full day, but not the day you check out. This happened to us, but we didn't stay around much that morning we checked out. Might have changed, but this is what happened to us.

Just remember, if you have to add a day it may be dependent on the room being available.

WDW2002 brings up an excellent point. On one of our vacations, my young daughter was very ill (vomiting, fever, etc.). We had to extend our stay, however, we were staying in the BWV resort. That resort was completely booked and we could not extend our stay there. However, the Front Desk was able to find a room over on the BWI side, and thus we switched to a room over there. We were charged rack rate for that room, so it was an expensive extension to our stay, but there was nothing that we could do, our little girl was too ill to fly back home.

We added 3 days to our 7-day stay several years back, (but it was considered a "slow" time of year - CBR in early December). Our check-out was Sat., we made the request Thurs. and were able to keep our same room.

I'd imagine the sooner you could alert them, the better your chances.

(Like THAT'S gonna ever happen again ;)
