Adding a day to package?

Hi all! My DH and I are visiting WDW with his parents 2/24-2/29, staying POR with a 6-day package. DH and I are talking about leaving earlier on our travel day (we drive from NOLA) and going into EPCOT on the evening of 2/23 so we can get a little more time at Festival of the Arts. We would stay off-site for this one night. Does anyone know how we could add an extra day to our park ticket? Calling into Disney hasn't been super helpful.

Your problem is that you have your tickets purchased as PART of your RESORT stay.
(That makes it a "resort package.")
If you don't have "Free" Dining or other special deal, and you THINK that you MIGHT want to add any days previous to your originally-planned trip, do not buy tickets connected to your resort stay.

Your specific problem is worsened because you have waited until too close to your arrival date to easily make changes in your resort package (without incurring an extra charge.)
If you had asked this question two weeks ago, it would have been easy and cheap to fix.

Call Disney and explain that you want to BUY TICKETS SEPARATELY from your resort and
THEN, AFTER THAT IS DONE, you want to cancel the tickets that are part of your package.
(Doing this in that order will save your pre-booked FPs.)
Even if there is a "alteration/cancellation fee" for changing your package within a month of your trip,
it should be less expensive than buying additional one-day tickets to cover that first "extra day."

As Robo said, unfortunately, package tickets start on the day of check-in, so do not offer the flexibility you are looking for in your tickets. As Robo also said, you would need to purchase tickets separately with the new start date and length for the tickets, link them to your MDE profiles and then call and modify your existing package to take the package tickets off the booking. If you have dining attached to the booking, you need to ask them to make this a "ticketless package". If you only have a room/ticket package, you need to ask if they will make your booking a "basic package" so you don't have to re-book as a room-only. At this point in time, they will most likely charge you a $50 change fee to adjust the reservation.
