Hi there! I purchased 5 day tickets from Orbitz (buy 3 days get 2 free) for our August trip and now I'm thinking about adding a day to our ticket once we get to WD. First, will Disney be able to add a day; second, will they up-charge me from the price I paid through Orbitz or from what a Disney ticket would cost?

Thanks in advance!

Amy

Use the ticket for at least one park admission, then add at guest services. Should be $10.65, including tax.

Step 1: Before you enter the park, look at the price of your ticket above the ticketing window. Lets say you have a 5 day base ticket which is $304 plus tax.

Step 2: Look at the price of the ticket with the upgrades you want. Lets say a 6 day base ticket which would be $314 plus tax.

Step 3: Enter the theme park to activate your ticket. This locks in your ticket price to the one you saw in Step 1 ($304). If you don't enter the park, Disney will use the price that they sold it to Orbitz for which means that it'll cost you even more money to upgrade since Orbitz got it at a big discount.

Step 4: Take the difference of Step 2 and Step 1 and add tax. In this case $10 plus tax. That is the price that you will have to pay to upgrade.

Step 5: Visit Guest Relations, any ticketing window, or your resort front desk to upgrade. You can use any of these because you just want to add days and not upgrade to an AP. Make sure you do this BEFORE you use all of the days on your ticket. You cannot upgrade the morning after all of your days have been used.

I was just coming on to ask this exact same question :)

I've got one more though-
Will we be able to book FP+ for our 6th day in advance? Or will we have to wait to book them when we get to the parks and add an extra day?

Excellent advice. I would add that you can also upgrade at Downtown Disney Guest Relations (near Ghirardelli) or at DisneyQuest (if you happen to be visiting DTD). Also, of the parks, the Guest Relations line is likely to be longest at MK.

I've read stories of resort front desk charging too much, but these might have been "upgrading to AP" stories rather than adding an extra day.

Can't be the "AP" situation, as the resorts can't do anything in regard to selling/upgrading AP's.

In that scenario, could you advance book days 1-4, and 6. Does MDE allow you to have a WP or DtD day between park days?
Yes you can do that.

If you were going to do more than one day at a water park, and/or possible do Disney Quest on a DtD day, the Water Park Fun & More Option may be a practical choice also. Adding that option to a five day ticket costs $63. You would get 5 admissions to the water parks and Disney Quest. A DQ ticket alone costs $48 and a water park ticket costs $56.

Hope that did not confuse you.
