Hi there!
Does anyone have experience adding a guest to their room for one night? We have a seven-night stay booked and my wife's sister is coming over from Tampa to meet us one day. We have 3 people in a 4 person room, so there is room for her. If we add her as a day guest, will she be eligible for Disney Transportation and EMH?

CORRECTED thanks to @siskaren You can add someone to a package after check in - see post below:

Hi, do you have a package with tickets and dining? If so, everyone must be on the same package for the length of stay if added before you check in. You could use the meal entitlements between the 3 of you until she comes and save the ticket for another time (buying her a single or two day separately).

If you booked as a room only with tickets added on, then she can be added to the room with a ticket for just one or two days.

HTH.

Since you won't exceed then you can pay the additional adult fee for the one night. That will give her the ability to use EMH. Disney Transportation is open for all to use you just are suppose to park at a pay for parking location (either park or valet) if using it as a non-resort guest.

Not entirely true. You can add someone after you've checked in without them having to have tickets (or tickets of the same length as everyone else's) or dining.

That is great to know! Thanks, I didn't realize you could do that! Sorry for the misinformation.

Do I have to check in first or can I do it at check-in? She is meeting us on our arrival day and would leave the next day. The rest of us have a package with tickets and DDP, so that is why I am trying to figure out the logistics of adding her. She already has a free ticket from some sort of bad experience she had with her previous reservations.

You have to do it at the hotel so you can't do it through online check in if your mean do it at check-in. If you are checking in before you head to the parks on your arrival day then during the check in process you can say you need ot add a guest for the first night. They'll check you into your package and then add your sister for the 1 night. It can't be done before hand or online it has to be done at the hotel front desk.

Thanks! That sounds like a plan!

Yes, we jut did this last week with our son. We had a package with tickets and dining, added him as a day guest halfway through our stay. He was able to get a room key, EMH at parks, and transportation on DME to airport.

I am in a similar situation. Will this just cost the $10/night fee? Also, will my guest be allowed to take the Disney Magical Express to the Orlando Airport?

Oh and I just saw above that Sparkyco answered that! Further, will it cost additionally to add the DME to the airport? Or is that part of the $10/night fee?

Yes it is allowed as long as you do not go over the max occupancy for the room. It costs the 10 more for the night and then they are eligible for Magical Express. If they arrive the first day it is harder to get ME for them if they arrive later then you it is easier to set up as you have time on your side. They will not get tags to have their luggage delivered to the room so it is best to just take the luggage from baggage carousel and bring it themselves.

That is perfect as we are driving in together from a wedding and then they have 2 nights until they leave (we have a 4 night stay). This is wonderful! Thank you for your insight!!

We have done this for the past 2 trips, as our daughter escapes from the cold weather for a few days in the sunny south:)
We worried over this too, but just went to the front desk and told them that she was coming for a couple of days. It was 2 of us adults in a 5 person room at POR. She never did charge us for either trip, don't know why. I would assume that she didn't charge us because it was a 5 person room and we only had 3 with her addition? Anyway, it's easy, and yes she did use the resort transportation, but not DME.

Do it all the time. Just add them at check-in, especially if you need to add to ME, or do closer to arrival. When I have done it lately they even let them pick a color for a MB and gave to them. You will only have an extra adult fee per night, but I've had trips where they never added it.

Also if they are Friends and Family and have an active ticket, you can book their FP+ at 60 days.

Yes! I saw that when I logged onto their account (first-timers, so I'm handling everything) and saw everything was linked together and did a tiny celebration dance at my desk this morning!

I was nervous I was going to have to call next week and beg someone in IT to try to add their FP+ to match with ours (per instructions from the CM I spoke to months ago).

It is wonderful that Disney thinks of just about everything. I'm so excited to show our friend around MK for his first time and then enjoy the rest of my anniversary trip with my hubby!! ( 5 years )

Just to clarify a bit - the cost for each extra adult (over 2) is 10 at the values, 15 at the moderates and 25 at the deluxe resorts. This doesn't apply to Vila's or the Family Suites.

There is no charge for DME and as long as you add the extra guest before they arrive at the airport they will be transported from the airport to your resort but they will need to stop at the DME desk to get a voucher printed. They should also pick up any checked bags from the carousel and bring them to the DME, they will go under the bus.

They should be all set for the return trip/the vouchers are left on your room door or slipped under the door the day prior to the departure date.
